How To Start Off A Good Poster Design

How To Start Off A Good Poster Design
The worst thing that can happen when you design your own posters is when you just look at that blank screen or canvass with nothing really on your mind and with no real preparations. You really need to prepare a lot of things before you can actually go off designing those color posters and do the appropriate poster printing. Without some good preparation, it will only lead to a lot of wasted time, as you figure out what to do with those posters, with no real significant results in the near future.

If you think you are having this problem, then you have to read this guide. I am going to teach you here how to start off a good poster design. Just follow the good habits and techniques below so that you can go on the right track with your color posters.

1. Brainstorm first and refine an idea The best thing to do first is to do some actual brainstorming. Do not brainstorm in front of your canvass or the PC. Go to a place that has a lot of creative inspiration and do your initial brainstorming there. You can take a sketchpad and then start brainstorming in the park for example.

Have others help you out and try to refine your ideas to a few distinct concepts. It is better to do all the hard creative thinking in the best creative environment possible. Once done, you should have a better and faster time designing your posters when you are already in front of your design computer.

2. Browse through current posters on display Another thing that you can do to prepare yourself for designing those color posters is to browse through the current posters displayed today. It is good to just see what the trends are in poster printing, as well as the different color schemes and themes that your potential rivals are using. This will not only help you realize how good you will need to be, but also you will know what you need to do differently so that you can be distinct and different from them. Believe me, this will help you go on the right direction with your color posters, even as you are just starting with the designs.

3. Use a poster template Of course, it is also very recommended that you use a poster template at the outset of your design. This will give you the necessary standard foundation for your draft so that it can be accepted readily by those poster printing companies. By getting those color poster templates, you will then have little to worry about compatibility as your drafts will always be set properly for poster printing.

4. Gather the best images you can find first Another good habit that should start you off good for your color poster designs is the act of gathering the best images first. Many designers take a lot of time in poster design because they do the layouts and the image editing at the same time. However, if you do manage the acquisition and editing first of your images, you can easily focus on that task first, making you more efficient at the job. So get all the needed photographs and graphics first before you really start your poster designs. In this way, your layout process will be a lot faster as you design those color posters.

5. Gather the best fonts you can find first Lastly, you might want to gather the best fonts that you can find first before starting off with your poster designs. Believe me, it is better to prepare those fonts and install them at the outset so that you wont lose momentum with your designs later on. Youll move a lot faster in designing those custom posters if all the fonts needed are already set in your design application.

Great! Now you know how to start off good with your color poster designs. Just try to do the suggestions above and you should be well on your way to a proper color poster layout that prints beautifully. Good luck!

Start Your Engines - Reverse Cell Phone Search Engines That Is - Paid Search Or Free?

Start Your Engines - Reverse Cell Phone Search Engines That Is - Paid Search Or Free?

There are companies providing reverse cell phone search, free. It is possible to find a person's name, address, and other information from public records just by entering a phone number into a reverse cell phone search engine. The problem with the free services is they have small databases and can lead to frustration.

I will give you a place with links to a couple of the free services at the end of this article. If you need to find the owner a number is registered to you have some choices. Usually the first choice is a free reverse look up. Most people start out searching these sites as it is only natural to want to find the info for free. However, these services are only a starting point. The information offered is limited because the database of phone numbers is generally small. They are small because they are derived only from public records. This means that few if any cellular numbers are included. The data also relies on consumer input and can be quite stale as people don't even know they can update their info on them. This can lead to frustration but not an end to your search.

The second option available, and preferable once you know what is going on, is to use a quality site that owns a vast database. These databases include all types of phone numbers including home, business, mobile, unlisted, toll free and pager numbers. Updates are applied regularly so the information is current. Cellular service providers charge these companies large fees to have access to the private databases. That is why they are so much more accurate in what they provide compared to the free option.

The small price paid for access is well worth it for the time saved alone. There are "one time search" as well as yearly options as far as the fee goes but if you plan on searching for than a couple numbers the annual fee is the better deal. The report generally includes the name, address and cellular carrier information. The search itself takes only seconds.

How to Create a Fresh Start

How to Create a Fresh Start

Remember how it feels when you look at a blank page upon which you plan to create something. It's both exciting and challenging. You don't know what will show up but you're excited to see it.

Rumi has a great poem:

Be a sheet of paper with nothing on it.

Be a spot of ground where nothing is growing,

Where something might be planted,

A seed, possibly, from the absolute.

How do you stop your life, take a good long look and see what could be planted.

You move!!!!!!

Well, you don't have to go that far but I did just move half way across the country and all manner of new choices are appearing.

Change what you have been doing out of habit

There's nothing like packing up everything you own to take you away from your desk and your routine. I spent six weeks packing and preparing, a week to move and here I am two weeks in and there are still boxes in my office that need unpacking. So it's possible that you do have to create a good sized length of time to not do what you've been doing in order to be aware of what you have been doing unconsciously. Now that I am reassembling my life and my business I am questioning everything. What do I want to do more of? Answer: write. If I had my business look any way I wanted what would it look like? Answer: I'd have an advance on my book and be able to focus on writing it. Who do I want in my life? Pro-active, go-getting people who want to change the world and need me to help them create an internet business.

You can also list what you don't want in your life and take steps to free yourself of those people or activities. Question everything you do, every television program you watch out of habit or boredom, everything you eat out of stress or tension, every person you try to please rather than yourself.

Listen to what is asked of you

We each have a unique place of service and we find that place by listening to what other people ask of us. You may be asked for advice a lot, or to organize things, or come up with creative ideas. Those are your gifts and should be the foundation of your business. Make a list right now of six things people ask you to do for them. Then circle the two you like to do best. See how you can incorporate those into your business.

Notice what you feel

I have moved back to the Midwest to be near my children and already I feel more secure. I no longer have to do my strong woman number all by myself. It is a relief. And on the other hand, I don't want to grow dependent on it. As you explore your projected change see how it would make you feel and be guided by what you discover.

Look at the signs around you

Even before I got here I knew my apartment looked out over a meadow. And it turns out my office window has that particular view too. More than ever it makes me want to write, to pull from who I am and what I know information I can share with others that will help them change their lives, that will help them uncover their vision and bring it into a concrete, viable, profitable form of business. The idea sings to me, it stirs my heart, it excites me.

Don't fall for the money trap

I find that one of my worst motivators is doing something for the money. Follow your heart, be in service where you most want to be and let the mechanics work themselves out organically. I can sit here and say "I need x amount of dollars every month and that means x number of clients." But look what I am doing. I'm eliminating all sorts of unexpected and expanding possibilities.

My goal is to develop my book concept into a book and workbook and course material. I could begin by creating one course in one aspect of my idea and market just that to start the project rolling and to create income at the same time. See. Now I'm hanging on to my dream and see a way to create income at the same time. Follow your dream and don't overlook creating it in smaller segments.

Listen to your core

When we are still, when we stop our mind and simply are, there is an inner knowing of what is right for us that becomes evident. Whether you journal, or meditate, or simply talk your ideas over with a good friend, allow space for the Universe to speak to you and offer guidance.

Then follow your heart and make a fresh start.

All You Need to Start Your Own Blog

All You Need to Start Your Own Blog

Blog is actually short for “Web log”, although these days nobody even uses the term and the origin of the word will probably be lost to history at some point because it’s not really that important. Except, the word “Blog” still has this connotation of an online diary. This is certainly a use for it but the reality is unless you’re a celebrity there won’t be terribly many people interested in reading about your daily life, especially if you don’t manage to turn every post into an adventure. So the first thing you should ask yourself on your journey to starting a blog is what the blog is going to be about?

The movie Julie and Julia featured a woman from Queens, New York who was cooking her way through Julia Childs’ cookbook and blogging about it. That wasn’t the original purpose of her blog but it became largely about that journey and this made her blog very popular. If you’re looking to start a blog then you must have some desire to connect with an audience, and if you’re looking to really connect with them and want to gather a big audience then you need to be interesting. You need to have a hook.

Some of the most popular blogs on the web today are blogs that are either instructive, offer commentary on specific subjects, or review cool stuff. On the instructive side, one wildly popular (in advertising revenue) blog specializes in home improvement projects. Another is a technology blog that features articles designed to help people get the most out of their gadgets. There are also blogs that focus on sports commentary, political views, or follow industry news for cool stuff like gadgets or movies. Sites that review gadgets, movies and other cool stuff can also be popular. To have a successful blog you don’t need to choose one of these things, you just need to understand what it is about them that makes people want to read. Whether the idea for your blog is completely derivative, somewhat original, or a completely original concept, it needs to be interesting to keep readers coming back and get them to tell their friends to come and read also.

Once you have come up with your concept and you know what your blog is going to be about, the next step is to get a domain name, hosting and some blog software. Domain names can be as cheap as $ 10 per year or even less. Hosting can be had for under $ 5 per month in some places. The software used to build the site can be pay or free. Many people use the free software WordPress for their blogs. You don’t need to know how to program, it is as easy to use as a Facebook account and it can be customized fairly easily as well. If you need help, or if you definitely want some professional design for a logo and stuff like that it is not too expensive to hire freelancers off sites like to do the work. Before you know it, you will be up and blogging. Good luck!

How to Start Your Own Real Estate Blog

How to Start Your Own Real Estate Blog

Real estate blogs are now a must have for serious real estate agents. Fortunately, they couldn't be easier to set up, and they're free! Many agents now use their blog as their main real estate site, saving them hundreds of dollars a year and avoiding the hassle of maintaining both a website and a blog.

Step 1: Plan it out. What areas and topics do you want your blog to cover? What would you like to name your blog? You want your blog to cover broad enough topics that you can reach new clients. But you don't want to be overly broad or you'll be competing against larger, more entrenched blogs. Also, the more you focus on a smaller area the more of a local expert you will appear.

For most small towns, consider a blog covering your entire region. If you are in a larger city, you may want to focus on that city only. It's not recommended to focus your blog on just one neighborhood, as it may be hard to consistently write new content if there is not that much news to report for that neighborhood.

Step 2: Sign up for an account at one of the major free blog providers, such as wordpress, blogger, or posterous. They're all very easy to set up, usually it is only a 2-3 step process where you enter you username and email address, then pick a name for your blog. And, of course, it's all free.

Step 3: Set up your blog. Before writing your first post, you should click on the "pages" section and edit your "about" page. You can also add additional pages, for example if you want to include a testimonials page or a local resources page. "Pages" are different from "posts", because a page is a permanent page that is linked right from you homepage, just as you see with regular real estate websites.

"Posts" are what you write every 1-2 days, which slowly move down the page as your write more. Posts are great for day to day news, and pages are great for permanent important information you want your visitors to see.

Step 3: Check out your competition. Type your area (ex "Boston real estate" or "Boston real estate blog") into Google, and read the top blogs that you find. That should help give you an idea of the type of content readers are looking for, Take your time on this step and really get a feel for the style of writing (short - lots of dashes - lots of line breaks) that people like on the internet.

Also see which posts get the most comments, and that will give you an idea of what topics readers care most about.

Step 4: Start writing! Blogs only work if you write several blog posts a week, at least 2-3. You won't see much response at first, but if you consistently write for 3-4 months you should start to see a few comments from visitors, and then it's only a matter of time until you generate your first lead from your blog!

Start a Blog and dive in today

Start a Blog and dive in today

The best way to learn about blogging is to get involved, and that is something you can do today! Here are three things you can begin doing immediately:

Start Reading Other Blogs
Reading blogs as a budding blogger means looking at how they are set up, what content works and why it does, how often they are posting, what kinds of posts generate the most discussion, and so on. Reading popular blogs is a great way to get in the thick of things, and if you read blogs in the niche that you intend to blog yourself, you'll also get a good idea of the landscape and where your new blog will fit in. The best way to find blogs to read is simply to start surfing. Google Blog Search and Technorati are two great places to begin your browsing, and more often than not, you'll find posts linking to more posts and before you know it, you'll be inundated! You may also wish to grab an account with a feed reader site like Google Reader and begin subscribing to the better blogs you come across. This is a good habit to get into as you enter into the world of blogging, as you'll find there are a lot of sites to keep track of.

Start Reading Blogs about Blogging
Naturally there are some great blogs about blogging out there, and they offer a constant stream of advice and opinions on the subject. While this article gives a solid overview of blogging as a business, sites written specifically on the subject of blogging will often go into minute detail on niche topics, as well as mix in blogging news and opinions. You can find a selection of great blogs on blogging listed in the resources at the end of this chapter.

Start a Blog
Of course the best way to get involved in blogging is to start doing it. The two easiest sites to open a blog to experiment with are There you can literally be up and running in a few minutes. If you've already got an idea you're serious about, you may want to go the whole way and grab a web hosting account with WordPress, Movable Type, or some other blog choice, in which case check the resources at the end of this chapter. In any case, starting a blog and habitually posting to it at some regular interval is the best way to find out if blogging is something you really want to get into.

So feel free to start a blog right now, about anything you like!

Backlinks: 3 Easy Methods To Start Ranking

Backlinks: 3 Easy Methods To Start Ranking

Social media has taken over the web in the past few years. These days, most people, if they're getting online, get on their social media sites. With social media sites, you are able to create a profile, which allows you to express yourself. The profile is a good way to discuss points about yourself and you may also include your link. What's becoming popular is to utilize all these profiles on these social networking sites in order to garner more backlinks.

You don't just want to focus on social networking sites as you're able to make profiles on other websites, as well. Sites like these are liked by the search engines, so each backlink you get will be worth a lot. This tip is so easy to do, as you only need to be registered and then you can start working on your profile. The higher number of profiles you have, the more backlinks you'll be able to create.

When you are building backlinks, things are better if you are unique and ethical with your methods. One smart way to create good backlinks is to utilize Squidoo or HubPages. These websites will let you share your knowledgeable articles with your target audience. The best thing about these websites is the fact that you can build anchor text on them, which makes them perfect tools for your link building venture. Don't use these sites for ill purposes, but use them to enhance your link building success. Search engines will view your backlinks as credible since they came from Squidoo and Hubpages, which have a lot of authority. As a result your pages on these websites will rank well as give link juice to your own keywords and webpages.

What if there was a way you could get the backlinks you wanted and anyone could do it? This refers to getting backlinks from forums and discussion websites. These forums will allow you to create a profile that includes a signature box, which is perfect for your backlink. This means, when you become a member of these forums and start sharing your knowledge, you'll find your link right below every post. This will put more eyeballs on your site in the form of the other members, but you'll also garner that backlink, which will help you in the search engine rankings. Last but not the least; make sure you're posting your links only on relevant forums that are related to your niche, so that you have the best chances to rank for your chosen keyword. In closing, link building can take you far, but you must give yourself time to learn about it before you can see results.

How To Start a Blog

A blog is a simple website, written in the form of a diary. The simplicity in its structure its what makes it stand out from the rest. Blogs have become very popular in the last couple of years. Many existing websites have changed their whole structure into a blogging one; This change leads to many benefits, including better management, easier content publication and better search engine optimization.

To start a blog, you have many free options, but I personally recommend you host your own blog, instead of using free

blogging websites. My recommendation comes along with my personal experience blogging. Many free blogs, such as the ones found in wordpress, blogger, etc. are limited to the user's agreement from each blogging service, and therefore, could limit your ability to monetize your blog. After all, who doesn't like to be paid for one's efforts even if its a hobby? That's the main reason I recommend you own your own "dot com" blog and not host it with free services.

How to start your own Dot Com Blog?

Step 1. You need a domain name - You can get cheap domain names online. Try Godaddy  for example, and search for coupons online to get discounts for your domain registration.

Step 2. You need a hosting account- The hosting account is a server space or computer you rent space from, so that your website files can be stored and everytime a person types your blog's address, they see can actually see your blog. You should get cheap hosting first (under $ 5 a month with Hostgator) until you need more power to run your blog (while your blog keeps growing, the number of visitors will increase and you will need a better hosting service). Until then, stick with the shared hosting environment, it should keep your blog alive for at least a year.

Step 3. Now that you have a domain name and a hosting account, you need to configure your domain name server, so that it points to your hosting account. In your domain registrar's account, you should be able to change your  "Nameservers". This is a short url your hosting company assigns you in order for the domain to point to their own servers. Simply input your hosting name server address (NS1 and NS2 in most cases) and you should wait 24 hours or less until they propagate and you will be able to start using the account.

Step 4. After your name servers propagate, you will now need to login into your control panel (cpanel -usually located at Once logged in, the easiest way to install the Wordpress Blog Platform is through "fantastico". Fantastico is a neat little tool found in the cpanel, that allows you to install the whole blogging platform with a single click. Now look for the fantastico icon and click on it. You will see a menu on the left side with various software categories. Locate the Blog category and look for "Wordpress", click on it and install it. type your blog's address in the browser to ensure it installed correctly.

Step 5. Now that your blogging platform is installed, you may now proceed to log in to your blog's administration and get to know the interface. To add a new post, simply click on the "add new" under the "Post" submenu at the left. Once you open it, you will notice it is very similar to any word processing software. You can add text, change the text properties, size, color, and font. You can add pictures, position them and resize them. Write a test post and click the "publish" button to make it public.

Step 6. Congratulations on your new blog! Now go ahead and change themes to make it look better (tons of free themes at and customize it with widgets, plugins and most importantly, add new fresh and original content every week.
