Social Media Aggregation Sites

Social Media Aggregation Sites

When I first started on line like most I had absolutely no understanding of how many social media sites there were out there. AND it is growing daily. With sites like Ning everyone can now create their own social media site, will it ever end?? As I learn more I continually hear people talking about the aggregation of their social media sites and have read a few blog posts on how to use them. Here is the wikipedia definition:

Social network aggregation is the process of collecting content from multiple social network services, such as MySpace or Facebook. The task is often performed by a social network aggregator, which pulls together information into a single location,[1] or helps a user consolidate multiple social networking profiles into one profile.[2] Various aggregation services provide tools or widgets to allow users to consolidate messages, track friends, combine bookmarks, search across multiple social networking sites, read RSS feeds for multiple social networks, see when their name is mentioned on various sites, access their profiles from a single interface, provide "lifestreams", etc.[2] Social network aggregation services attempt to organize or simplify a user's social networking experience,[3] although the idea has been satirized by the concept of a "social network aggregator aggregator."[4]

As you join more sites your content becomes spread all over the place and it becomes necessary to take some sort of control. If you do not then social media can be a BIG waste of time. Just think if you were using 25 different social media sites, how long does it take just to sign into them all? Here are 3 of the social network aggregation sites I have looked into...

Friendfeed "Read and share however you want - from your email, your phone or even from Facebook. Publish your FriendFeed to your website or blog, or to services you already use, like Twitter." I admit to not really getting this one, I signed up for an account months ago and almost never use it.

Fuser "Manage your email and social networking messages from one inbox" Looks interesting but I have never invested any time to learn how to use it. I would love to hear from people who are successfully using this one.

Spokeo is a "search engine specialized in organizing people-related information from phone books, social networks, marketing lists, business sites, and other public sources." This one was recommended to me by an associate and it does look interesting

You will need to decide exactly what you want the aggreation site to do for you, because there are many out there and more to come. Each one will do a little something different for you so it is best to look at the sites from the perspective of what you want it to do for you rather than what it has to offer. Take control or it will take control of you!

Social Marketing

Social Marketing

If you're looking to learn more information about why social marketing should be a big priority when it comes to marketing your blog, then read on. This article will discuss why social bookmarking directories are beginning to replace search engines, how social bookmarking can be one of the easiest promotional methods around, and how Web 2.0 marketing will help retain repeat visitors.

It's not all about Google any more. It's true. A large proportion of Internet users are now relying upon using places like Technorati or Digg.com to search for results on the Internet. This may be because the results and content of these types of community are built by real people and their opinions, rather than search engine "spiders" and software.

Web pages in the search results are placed in order or for user popularity, and how many votes it has received, so can be more trustworthy. If your blog or website is featured as popular in these types of search results, the traffic can be very targeted. And here's the thing. Social marketing can be relatively easy! It is no way as difficult as mastering SEO, or submitting hundreds of articles to directories each month. Sometimes a simple social bookmark submission can be all it takes for your web property to go "viral" - and once this happens, things can snowball from there.

Have you ever noticed the phenomenon of the ever growing crowd? It starts off with three or four people huddled around something that seems interesting - and more and more people come over to have a look at what is going on. Soon enough there are hundreds of people trying to look at what all the fuss is about. Imagine if this happens in regards to your website. Happy times...

Another good benefit of social marketing is to maintain a good relationship with your visitors. Believe it or not, people like people. If they believe there is a real live human being behind the HTML, they are much more likely to warm to you. In this respect, social marketing is in essence described exactly by its title - "social". Use it to retain your visitors, converse with them and get their feedback - ensuring they return once more.

So there we have it. Three good reasons why you should be implementing social bookmarking today. First, because Internet users turning to the social sites to search for their favorite things, instead of search engines like Google or Yahoo. Second, because of the ease of using social marketing as a viable alternative to traditional techniques, and third - to develop and maintain relationships with your visitors.

Social Media Optimization and Email Marketing Strategies

Social Media Optimization and Email Marketing Strategies

If you are a savvy online email marketer, you need to include Social Medial Optimization (SMO) as a key ingredient of your email marketing plans.  Websites that now have a larger integration with social media are gaining huge popularity as their rankings grow higher in the search engines.  SMO is a unique marketing tool, offering you live, interactive methods to engage your audience daily.

Social Media Optimization (SMO) produces a great deal of popularity for any website.  Using online communities create an endless flow of digital chatter called viral marketing.  Viral marketing is where a website becomes popular through the buzz created by using blogs, emails, social bookmarking, videos, and photo sharing.  SMO is a powerful free tool when considering all the strategies you might invest in when building and boosting your own website traffic.

While preserving your current listings, SMO helps you gain more search engine exposure.  By using videos, forums, blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, you can capture a larger number of organic SERP positions.  Every marketer's goal is simple; increasing website traffic – by pointing them to a customized and predetermined landing page.  Using SEO marketing will help you reach that goal effectively.  It is imperative to understand what strategies will work for you.  Here are some basic tactics to get you started:

Link Building with:

1. Article Directories.  Submitting articles to article directories is a great source when creating valuable backlinks.  There are several article directories that are frequented by thousands of Internet surfers.  Many surfers will click on your email or website signature when your article is read.

2. Forums.  Adding your backlinks to a forum signature when posting your responses is another way of getting your company noticed.  Do not market yourself on the forum.  It is tempting, but forum moderators constantly scan the communications for spammers, and will quickly blacklist you if they believe you are only joining for marketing purposes.

3. Blogs.  Blogs are one of the most popular tools, when integrating social media into your marketing strategies.  Blogs open interactive dialogues with your clients and prospects, enabling an honest exchange of ideas and thoughts.  Viral discussions are not only good for your company, but are picked up by the search engines creating backlinks back to your blog.

4. YouTube.  Sign up with YouTube for your free account today.  Make a YouTube video of either your products or services.  Advertise the URL on your newsletters, blogs, Facebook and Twitter account.  You can leave your website and email as your video signature.

5. Business Directories.  Add your business listing to the Local Business section on Google, Bing, and Yahoo. It's free and the local business results appear first on the search results.

6. Pay Per Click (PPC) PPC is when you create advertisements on search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, and Bing.  The advertisements will appear under the sponsored results each time a user types in a key word that relates to the subject of the ad.  Advertisers only have to pay for users that click on their websites, explaining the name "pay per click."

A Few More Simple Strategies to Add

Listen to what your customers and prospects are saying:  Communication is a vital key towards gaining business success.  Honest and useful communication helps establish, and grow your customer base.  Be an active listener.  When you are an active listener, you'll know the best method and way to communicate to each individual prospect or client. Good listening skills foster good customer relationships.

Keep up with the latest Internet digital chatter.  Do some keyword searches for your product or service.  Read the blogs, articles, and Facebook comments.  See what people are saying.  What makes them happy?  What are their grievances?  Always have the attitude to grow and adapt along the way.

Track your marketing campaigns.  Integrate tracking tools to monitor and measure the success of your social media optimization campaigns.  Create linking reports showing inbound links pointing to your domain and specified landing pages. Tracking your metrics is important when determining whether your SMO campaigns are effective.

Caboodle Social Media Marketing Firm And Video Overlay Ads

Caboodle Social Media Marketing Firm And Video Overlay Ads
I'm an affiliate of Caboodle social media marketing. We offer ways for retail businesses to use Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to drive more traffic. We also offer video overlay ads on popular Internet video sites and we have a number of mobile smart phone applications like a mobile store, mobile invoicer, etc.

I'm writing a series of question and answer blog postings on Caboodle. In a previous post we talked about the role Caboodle plays in social media. The second question I hear a lot is Who uses social media? Isn't it just a bunch of 13 year old girls on Facebook? At last count Facebook has 500 million users of all age brackets and believe it or not the Internet has beat out TV as the preferred entertainment medium. Video sites are growing fast. YouTube is the second largest search engine behind parent company Google. And Justin.tv, Ustream and Dailymotion are gaining on YouTube. For instance more videos are uploaded daily to Justin.tv than YouTube. And mobile smart phone apps are growing five times as fast as PCs. Social media is how folks get info when making buying decisions. Caboodle social media marketing offers a number of smart phone apps, video overlay ads on premium video channels like Justin.tv, Ustream and Dailymotion as well as ways to market through Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. We're an interactive marketing firm. Great place if you're looking at sales job openings in Omaha or anywhere...or looking for small businesses for sale in Omaha or anywhere.

Another question I hear is how do Caboodle products stack up against the competition? We've bundled our products utilizing existing software and procedures and we're using the best stuff. We're also first to market with an online rewards program.

I'm giving away One Page Mobile Website with loads of features for Free. Call me anytime toll free 866.433.8501 and we can discuss Caboodle.

Do You Need to Hire a Social Media Marketing Consulting Firm?

Do You Need to Hire a Social Media Marketing Consulting Firm?

When it comes to marketing your business online, there are a good number of options that you can go for. However, there are only two basic options you need to decide on: whether to do it yourself or pay someone else to do it for you.

Making up your mind on this matter will help you determine how your business would go in a lot of ways. For example, opting for doing stuff yourself offers a lot of learning experience for you. On the other hand, however, you will lose a lot of valuable time that you could've used to make more money instead. By leaving your venture to the experts, on the other hand, you'll easily see a good amount of improvement, popularity-wise especially if you chose the right internet marketing firm, for example. It can also cost you some money as well, however.

Of course, if you're quite torn with these, you can always cut corners and do what most other folks do: they choose which specialties to focus on and pay for the others that they don't think they can handle well. One common example here is social media marketing consulting. People pay for this service because it is something highly beneficial, so investing in it can be a wise choice.

The great thing about this is that, once you've learned the ropes, you can now go on your own. Unlike other services like web development, this particular service is educational, profitable, and easy to learn. So, spending a little on it always proves to pay off very well.

By subscribing to a social media marketing consulting agency or firm, you can learn a good amount of stuff. You'll make a better call whether to use Twitter for your promotions and how to properly execute a Facebook marketing campaign. Learning about other helpful social networking sites is another perk you can enjoy from this service.

This is why if you're considering investing on your marketing ploy, going for something that will benefit you in a lot of ways. Social media marketing consulting is one of these, so don't hesitate to try your luck out. Just remember to only go for reputable companies, though, so you won't get ripped off by someone pretending he's an expert on something that you could've easily learn by yourself through the free tips available online.

What Social Media Can Bring Back B2B?

What Social Media Can Bring Back B2B?

Nowadays, proactive public relations is a vital part in businesses. For the entrepreneurial type starting out, social media tools and web 2.0 technologies play an important role. If you are a bit doubtful about the benefits of web 2.0 and social media which bring back your business then you should read this article. You will see some ways here that social media can be used to get benefit for you that is in the B2B sector.

Raise Awareness for those with a limited budget- Pretty much all social media work that you can or will do is free. The only cost to you is time. You can start a Facebook fan page for free. You can set up a Twitter account for free. There is no barrier to getting involved in forums related to your niche. They are a great way to build your brand, positioning yourself as an expert in your field. You should also start a blog so that you can share useful and relevant information with your customers.

Increase traffic to a business website- Building your brand and putting out there will increase traffic to your website in a number of ways. Back links to your website are great for search engine optimization but also, the more content that you have out there the more likely someone is to see something that you have written. If a potential customer likes what they have seen wherever they see it on the internet, they are more likely to click on a link to your main website and then make a purchase from you. You need to earn trust before making a sale and not develop it after the fact.

Engage with an audience to build a community of raving fans- Social media is just that- social. You need to interact with your audience for it to be worthwhile. It is not just an avenue to put out a carefully scripted press release. You need to engage, you need to show some personality. If someone asks you a genuine question you need to respond. If people get pissed off by you they are going to bad mouth you. I am sure you would rather see positive things said about your business when someone searches for you in Google instead of saying bad things.

Social Media is not just for young kids and university students with too much time on their hands. The adult market for social media is growing. There are 500 million people on Facebook and chances are some of them are your clients. Take the leap and get involved today.

Social Media Anatomy

Social Media Anatomy
The Basic Anatomy of Social Media

Propelled by one billion peer users, social media has become the fastest growing marketing medium in the U.S. — nonetheless, the much-anticipated monetization of social media remains an unrealized quest for the Holy Grail. Legions of traditional marketers have predictably descended upon Facebook, Twitter, and countless blogs with transparent greed, but have largely failed to monetize social media, due to clumsy efforts that violate peer-to-peer trust etiquette. This can be directly attributed to the low levels of understanding as to how social media really works, within a business.

There are so many “things” involved in social media that it becomes almost impossible to figure out what is truly going on. YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Bookmarks, keywords, searches, email and many more options make it almost impossible for the layman to grasp what to do. In this article we hope to clear that up by explaining social media as a living thing, a functioning body of communication similar to the human body.

The premise of the body is simple, without food we die in a matter of days, without water that time is cut in half and without air air we will die in a couple of minutes. So, the primary needs of the body are air, water and food in that order. In order to do this let’s take a look at the human body first. Within the structure of the body there are musts, and that’s all we will cover for now. The brain, the heart, the lungs, the vein system, blood and bones provide us with a great background for explanation and connection to social media.

The bones provide protection and structure, some would even say protection through structure to the organs in the body. This is easily associated with the basics of an internet presence. Your bones in a social media presence are your website and all its functionality. It is the modern day equivilant to the business card and without it you are spinning your wheels. As the old saying goes, it is the “bare bones”.

Next is your veins system. This caries blood around the body and provides for nourishment and replenishment of the vital organs. They are the highways within anatomy and must be used correctly. If one is sending blood north and it is supposed to sending it south, we have big trouble. So, the association here is that your vein system is directly equal to the outside (not your) sites on the web. YouTube, Vimeo, Podcast sites, iTunes, Ezine and many more are the veins, or highways, that help distribute your content and message. Use them wisely and the flow will be steady.

Now that we know these sites work like veins within our social media system, what is the blood? Blood on its own is the most vital thing in the world for the body. It is the carrier of oxygen, nutrients and DNA. This is exactly like the content you put out to the world. It is your DNA. It is the essence of your brand and the fingerprint of your business. Your blood, or content, should remain pure and treated as the one thing that you cannot live without.

The heart plays a major role in this functioning of your body, as well as your media. The heart itself is nothing more than a muscle; it is driven by electricity that stems from your brain, or neural center. The act of pumping or flexing is the important thing to think of in this process. This is closely associated with the habits and routine of your media actions and behaviors. Good rhythm in your your media expression to your audience makes sure that your content is “pumping” through your distribution channels consistently.

Your brain is the command center of the body and your brands message. This command center is the place that tells you what to think, do, feel and transmit. The brain take sin information from other organs and makes decisions based on the feeling. For this to be closely associated with a portion of the social media mix for brands, we would have to suggest that it is, in part, run by a non-bias third party. The brain is made of many different parts and it always tells the truth, because it is relaying data from one part of the brain to another and providing guidance based on fact, not opinion.
This brings to mind the lungs, the most underrated organ in the human body and the most misused and misunderstood part of the social media mix. The fact is that the most essential thing living things need is air, it is the stimulator for the entire body. Air should be thought of as data. The more you TAKE IN the more success you will have in contemporary marketing. The lungs take in air and send it to the blood and brain at the same time. In other words, data from your audience should feed your content and choices as a modern brand. Social networks are the E-version of the lung. They are ready available organs that draw in all kinds of information, sort the useful from the not useful and pass it on to the brain and blood. Social networks should be used as tools to draw in info, much like lungs to air.
So let’s look at the simplicity of this analogy. The process should go like this when it comes to your media division. You must:

•Create a foundation (website,etc….)
•Determine which ways to use your distribution avenues (veins)
•Be present in the social networks to constantly give you data (Lungs and Air)
•Feed your neural center to ensure that you have the right information (Brain)
•Use this data to create proper content to send through the distribution centers with a purpose of driving people back to your website or sales center
•Create a daily plan of tactics and behaviors (heartbeat) to create a consistent circulation of your message

In conclusion every business should think of media (ways you connect with the public) as a child or birthing a new being. If you are not prepared to create a good body, don’t take it on. It is better to NOT be present in the space if you have nothing to say or a fuzzy message about who you are and what you do. It is tough to abort mistakes on the internet, so take parenting classes and build a parenting plan for this new organism of engagement and information marketing. Effective exercising of this plan will result in productive and accurate customer information, which in turn will produce healthy lines of revenue.

The first question I get asked a lot is what is social media marketing? Well that's a bit like asking "How long is a piece of string"? There are a lot of moving parts. But Caboodle fills in certain pieces of the social media marketing puzzle for small and media sized businesses including Facebook Twitter and YouTube account set up, initial rounds of fans and followers and content. With YouTube we'll get you targeted channel views, ratings and favorites so your business gets pushed up in the search engines. We also provide video overlay ads on popular video sites and a social media rewards site. So Caboodle is an interactive marketing company. And because of the network marketing module, it's great for anyone looking for a sales job openings in Omaha or anywhere or anyone looking for a small business for sale in Omaha or anywhere.

That takes me to the next question I hear a lot. Isn't network marketing the same as MLM? It is. And a lot of people ask if MLM is a pyramid scheme. The answer is some are. The key is you have to offer products and services and the products and services have to be priced at or below market levels. Caboodle has an outstanding line of social media marketing strategies and products priced at below market prices.

I'm giving away One Page Mobile Website with loads of features for Free. Call me anytime toll free 866.433.8501 and we can discuss Caboodle.

Social Media Mastery

Social Media Mastery

In order to master social media you must first master yourself.

What I mean by that is you must get away from all the hype, the spam, and the ridiculous money making offers out there. While some of them maybe be legit, there is just to much 'noise' out there to tell sometimes. You need to place yourself in the position of giving value to the rest of the social media users out there. When you can truly give excellent content and provide really strong, good tips and strategies about marketing or just social media in general is when you will start to see your social media following start to build at a very fast rate.

The most common mistake newbie's make is trying to promote themselves and their products and their mlm companies or whatever it may be. Let me just say that this stuff does not work. It may lead you to a few sales up front if you get lucky but there is no real long term value here. The whole purpose and goal of this is to provide massive value and build great relationships with people on those sites. When you begin to do this, you will see great results.

Another common problem that new people run into is thinking that they have no real value to offer people. I want to make perfectly clear that you DO have value and you DO have the ability to provide that value through social media. All you have to do is share what you are most passionate about. And don't tell me you don't have any passions. There is always something that you are great at that most people are not. To give you a literal example, for me it started with skateboarding because that is something I have been doing since I was a kid back in middle school. And took what I had learned from skateboarding and translated it into real life values and principles like overcoming your fears or persistent practice leading to the mastery of a trick. You can do this to for your passions and skills.

So if you haven't yet figure out the secrets to social media mastery then it is about time you learn them because if you are spending anywhere from 30-60 minutes a day on various social media sites and are not generating at least 10 to 25 fresh leads for your business then it's simply because no one has taught you how yet.

Social Media Discovery

Social Media Discovery
We have discovered theres a lot on connections between the different social sites enjoying fame with the young and old, and I think somebody told the marketing industry about this, I think they have discovered the connection between the internet, social media and internet traffic, where in trouble now

Social media has surpassed search engines for priority in gaining internet presence, and like email, where the mind set was if we just send out enough emails, people will visit our sites and buy!, then search engines and back links, so then it was If we create more back links and site referrals than the other guy, well have more traffic!, so before we Here we go again, lets stop and think?

Email blasters got smart and started targeting, gee just like direct mail companies!, Keyword targeting has not been figured out yet except for VITAL COMPUTER SERVICES, but we here at Vital know thats where its logically got to go. The pattern is there, the pattern is full. You cant just make a million connections between the social sites or try and get a zillion followers on twitter, Facebook or whatever.

Everybody can do that, everybody is doing that, except VITAL COMPUTER SERVICES, we have a plan.
Were going to figure out how to target, be selective about the connections we create, we add to the formula, geography, demographics, trends, we call them connection bots, like the web bots that making all the uncanny predictions that seem to come true we use the same concepts with social media connections.

We send out connection bots that analyze the connections between all the different media social sites, grab the data, analyze it, spread it out and figure were all the best connections are, why there the best, what value they hold to the most important markets, the hard time markets, and what we discovered is unbelievable!

The results of our first wave will turn the internet marketing world on its head, but we plan on waiting 4-6 more months before we start deploying this knowledge and the technology we developing because of what we found.
We though about selling this as an application, but have decided to sell this a internet service, Our major concern is somebody like Google coming up to us and making a huge, HUGE offer of a lot of money, and our weaker side caving in, but that wont happen, instead we thing Google will be our first customer.

Whatever the case, we will be springing this TRUE paradigm of how the internet is marketed not till sometime next year. When we started this project within Vital Computer Services consulting brain trust, we knew we were on to something but we didnt know where it would go, we thought the connection bot technology was a revolution in it self, but the results of the connection bots was explosive.

Vital Computer Services has always claimed to ride the edge of marketing concepts, this time we sharpened the edge and made it wider. Are you ready America?

Marketing Hamilton And Social Media Marketing

Marketing Hamilton And Social Media Marketing
Marketing Hamilton: What Every Hamilton Business Owner Ought To Know About Social Media Marketing

Marketing Hamilton presents the benefits of social media marketing - as discovered by researching internet marketers.

Social media marketing is not new. Far from it. It has been around since the beginning of time. The web has simply expanded how rapidly information can be spread and distributed.

The sheer power of social media as a marketing tool can't be ignored. Social Media has changed (and will continue to change) how people research information, interact with each other, communicate and how business will need to market to their intended audience.

The ability to produce and share information with their business and social network, respond to and with the writer and each other fosters online communities.

While social media is about commenting and collaborating it is such a new phenomenon that it is easy for someone to claim to be an expert in a subject - any subject and this raises some concerns. But, none the less... the sun rises in the East and sets in the West, ice cream cones taste best on a hot summers day and the internet is the preferred communication channel for social and business interactions.

The benefits of social media are just now starting to become understood as to how valuable a marketing tool they are, and these benefits will continue to grow.

Many believe that driving traffic back to their site will instantly turn into sales but this just isn't so. Simply having a Facebook page, Twitter account, blog or LinkedIn profile is not a marketing strategy. They simply provide a means to market interactively. Social media is one to one, one to many, people-to-people communication and is the new conduit through which society and business operates. Of itself, it is neither 'good' nor 'bad'. It is what it is: It is a new tool that will be embraced by business; Or those businesses that don't embrace it will disappear.

According to many marketers, the benefits of Social Media Marketing Include:

- increased business exposure

- increased traffic

- new business partnerships

- improved search engine rankings

- increased lead generation

To use social media to research your competitors and to learn what works and what doesn't work is a smart marketing strategy. You want to be tuned into what is being said through social media.

It's important to remember that social media doesn't sell. You sell.Social media brings you an audience that learns who you are and what you do. Think of them as new neighbors. You need to get to know each other and over time get to know what each other does. If you like each other you may end up doing business with each other.

Social media as a marketing tool must demonstrate value. It starts the relationship-building process. Constant interaction and engagement builds familiarity and trust.

You must make a commitment to providing value and must be consistent in your communication. When you do this you will be far ahead of the game and will be way ahead of most businesses trying to use social media just to sell.

Social Media Marketing Is the Latest Marketing Buzz

Social Media Marketing Is the Latest Marketing Buzz

In the past, businesses make use of television ads, radio ads, posters, tarpaulins, newspaper, and fliers to promote their products and services. But today, the most popular advertising technique is social media marketing. This is a marketing strategy that is greatly influenced by the World Wide Web. Marketers publicized their products through social-media tools like blogging and social networking sites. Experts consider this as an effective marketing strategy because the interaction between the consumers and the sellers are immediate and efficient.

Promoting a product or service online gives the customers a chance to proactively show interest toward the product. They can ask questions about it, inquire how to purchase it and even submit their orders without the hassle of having to be physically there. The seller or marketer can answer their queries right then and there. This immediate response should send a positive impression to the consumers. Therefore encouraging them to not only buy the product, but also promote it to their family and friends. After all, nothing can ever beat good customer service.

One good thing about social-media is that it has a wide array of web sites and web spaces that allows this exchange of thoughts and ideas to take place. Blogging is actually one of the most popular types of social media. People post their blogs on the internet for many different reasons. Blogs are very useful as they can send across important information to numerous individuals around the world. Marketers can look into these blogs to spy on some of their possible customers. Through these blogs, they can easily spot the people who will strongly respond to their product or service.

Another type of social media is micro-blogging. This is very similar to blogging, the only difference is that it's shorter. The words that a blogger is allowed to type in are limited to 140 characters. However, they are easier to understand as they are very straightforward in manner. Social media sites such as Facebook and Multiply are also very popular forms of social media. One common strategy among businesses online is that they put up a fan page and add as many people as they can to make their product and services known to many. Since social media marketing is fairly new to the industry, there are still a lot of different strategies to discover. What online businesses have to do is to think ahead of their competitors and get the ball rolling.

How To Use Social Media Marketing To Advertise My Website

How To Use Social Media Marketing To Advertise My Website

The last few years have seen an explosion in the use of social media. Millions of people are choosing to connect with their family, friends, coworkers and sometimes long-lost loves through the Internet. People have many different options to choose for their social media outlets, and many have two or three accounts. Keeping up with more than one account can be difficult, but many people do it on a daily basis. Businesses are learning the benefits of marketing through the social media to advertise their own websites.

Not too long ago, little advertising was done much on the computer. Advertising was mostly done through television ads, radio ads or billboards. Due to the rise in the use of social media outlets, advertising is taking another direction. Yes, there are still the old faithful ad media, but for businesses to grow they must understand the use and potential of other outlets. There are many benefits to using the Internet to boost your business sales. For one thing, by using the social media networks you get free advertising. They do not charge to open up a page. You can get as much free advertising as you have time to do - all with a social account.

Learning how to harness the power of social media for business can mean the difference between sales rising and sales dropping. Many companies are choosing to have their own pages or accounts on the social media sites to help their fans learn more about the company. They also use this as a way to branch out and share their products with others who may not know they are around. Many have also shifted to advertise with social media to draw in more and more customers.

When you first start to use social media to advertise your website there are a few things you should be aware of. First of all, this is a time consuming venture. You cannot expect to open up an account and see your sales and business increase overnight. It will take time and dedication to make the profits show; in fact, it could take weeks or months to truly see the benefits of your social media marketing. There are a few different social media avenues out there. The main ones are Twitter, YouTube and Facebook. You can also use a blog to help share information about you and your business or industry.

On Twitter you can set up a business account and let people know you are out there. Use Twitter as a daily post or updates to your main website. You can share news updates or post that are happening in your industry. You do not want to flood your Twitter account with posts about your website because this could be considered spamming. Post updates regularly, but insure that they have interesting content--don't just plug your website. Share information that people who are interested in your business or industry would want to know.

Many people are using YouTube for sharing their videos of their families, friends and things they may see that are odd or interesting. You can make a small advertising video for your website or business and share it on YouTube without having to hire a video team. You can make and upload the video yourself. This is a great way to get your business in their minds of your customers, telling them what you are doing and what your website has to offer.

Facebook has grown rapidly over the years. It has quickly become one of the most popular social media outlets out there. People have personal pages, group pages and create their own fan clubs. There may be an unofficial page already supporting your brand. Use this to your advantage. Once you have created your business page, make sure to coordinate with any existing pages mentioning your business. If there none, create your own page to start promoting your business. Try emailing any of your customers who may be on a newsletter list. Share with them that you have created a page. Many people love to see the businesses they frequent on Facebook. You can use this site to have promotions for sales or giveaways, or just to share new products that may be coming out. The marketing potential with Facebook and other social media outlets is endless.

Remember that making a page online will not automatically give you results. You must work the page and actively advertise. Just starting the page will not do it. With dedication, hard work and patience, you will see amazing results from these different outlets. Advertise your website and watch how quickly it can grow for you. Maintaining your pages and keeping them current will help you to see growth in your business. Learn to use the social media to benefit your business.

How Social Media Marketing Works

How Social Media Marketing Works
Many business owners are asking themselves, How does Social Media Marketing work? Also known as SMM, this type of marketing revolves around social media and networking, thus allowing businesses and organizations to reach more people in new and innovative ways. It has many benefits, such as being an entirely green form of marketing, in addition to being highly efficient and easily organized. Knowing just how to make SMM work for a particular business involves understanding the potential of this kind of marketing.

The Ins and Outs of SMM

Social media marketing is a relatively new technique in the realm of integrating and communicating in business. It is used to promote businesses, organizations, companies, products, and services, in a variety of different ways. Prime examples include using SMM to advertise, to sell on a personal level, to create publicity, to promote PR, and to promote sales. Companies can make use of Web Design and SEO services to promote their products or services over a variety of sites, such as social networks, article directories, and company blogs.

Using Social Networking in Marketing

As mentioned, social media marketing can be used to create a social network for an individual company. Social networking is no longer just for individual people keeping up with friends and family, but can instead be used to promote products and ideas to a target market. It is possible to both have a page on the most popular networking sites and to buy advertising space on a side bar. Social networking can also keep consumers in the loop and make them feel endeared to a service, product, or the company promoting it.

Sharing with SMM

Social media marketing provides the opportunity to share everything from videos to blogs to bookmarks. It is not just about blogs and social networking sites, although those are good places to start. It is a mistake to think that everything shared should be solely about the company or the product. Instead, it is vital to share information about other things as well, because this gives consumers and customers the opportunity to feel on an even keel with you. This does more than create repeat customers; it offers the most invaluable kind of advertising: word of mouth.

The Best SMM Strategies

SMM strategies can revolve around many things, such as targeted web design and Email Marketing . The proper design for a web site might include the layout, links, and the ability to navigate to a Facebook or Twitter page. Email marketing also offers a way to reach people for any number of reasons, including offering deals and coupons, providing news and information, or simply keeping consumers in the know about the company. Without question a good strategy will always involve using social networking.

Using SMM for Support

Social media networking allows for the unique ability to support customers, consumers, fans, and so on. This type of media lets people stay in contact with one another in real time. That means that a company using SMM can let their target audiences know about news, events, sales, et cetera, as they occur. By sharing those things and unrelated tidbits, even funny videos or interesting articles, people will start talking about you; word spreads exponentially, and that type of talk ultimately reveals itself in sales and profits.

Karen Barney wrote this article for inSegment. She is recommending inSegments Internet marketing, Online Marketing, and Boston SEO services for those who are in interest.

Social Media Marketing Strategies

Social Media Marketing Strategies
So are you ready to start using social media but just are not sure how? Well you are not alone, in fact this is where the majority of businesses currently sit. They have heard about what social media can do for their business, they have done a little bit themselves, maybe even created a page BUT where to from here. How do we get thousands of followers, how do we get business from and how do we showcase our product or service.

Nowadays, a lot of companies are considering social sites as a new means of engaging with existing customers and attracting potential clients. With more than 1 billion users on just facebook, twitter and linkedin alone.

Here are a few tips in using Facebook as an effective tool in connecting with your customers.

Make a sound plan before implementing Facebook marketing.

Like with all other marketing campaigns and strategies in your business you need a plan, you need measurable targets and you need to know the return on your marketing dollar. Do not just go into social media marketing not knowing what you are going to do or what you expect out of it. Most importantly you need to learn and understand the different strategies and how to be competent in using such strategy to gain maximum impact.

Establish metrics and measure all your social media marketing efforts.

There are measurement tools available like Google analytics that help you track website user visit activity. Never make the mistake of going into a marketing campaign without knowing how to gauge the effectiveness of your efforts. Well on your fan page there are insights to show you how many new fans you are getting per day, how often they are coming to your page and how often they are interacting with you. These insights are the data you need to know how to measure the effectiveness of what you are doing and the tool to show you if you are getting a good return for the time, effort and dollars being spent.

Incorporate your social media with all the other channels that you use for marketing.

Cross integration is a must for businesses to be successful on social media. Your prospects, clients, customers and friends need to see your social media presence from a variety of different forms. Therefore places such as your website, email signatures, promotional material are all great spots to include links to your business fan pages and increase the number of people following you. Every opportunity you get to self promote your business and its community of followers should be taken.

Never assume that you know how to attract Facebook users and understand Facebook marketing simply because you are a Facebook user.

People who are on social media believe that their presence is enough to get people to follow and join their community. Unfortunately this is probably the biggest mis-conception around. There are tested and measured strategies to getting followers and strategies that should be used daily to continue growth. Businesses that are pro active in building their social media following will see results a lot quicker than those people sitting and waiting for others to come to them.

Avoid annoying customers and schemes that would give your brand a bad name.

Unfortunately in all walks of life there are people who have set their purpose to create trouble for others. This is not a large percentage but yes they do exist. Therefore you need to be weary of such people and schemes and just remove and ban such people from your pages. This is different to someone having a different option or a complaint against your business. Such opportunities should be used to show everyone else how you handle such events. It can be turned into a positive very quickly when dealt with correctly. Having followers that have different options to yourself can make the page interesting and the interaction actually helps to promote your page to others.

Social media marketing should be a part of all small businesses marketing plan. Getting onto social media and writing a few comments or showcasing a product or service or sale is not a marketing strategy and in fact it is a waste of time. You need to understand the strategies, implement them daily and have measurable goals and targets to test your success upon.
We hope that has given you a little more insight into not only the power of social media marketing for businesses but some ways that you can or tweak your own social media.

Why Not Use Social Network Sites to Get Free Lead Generation?

Why Not Use Social Network Sites to Get Free Lead Generation?

So where do you start?

First you need to have an account or open one with facebook or myspace There are a bit more social network sites out there. It's your choice, but you need one which has a lot of members and you know the word will get round. You will set up your profile and when you do your status updates make sure you are talking about your product or related product.
It has to be something that will make them take action and click on your website.

How to choose which group to join.

There are so many groups on www.facebook.com or www.myspace.com one can join. First you have to join a group which has 200 or more members. Then you want to choose a group related to what you are offering, for example if it is beauty products, go for the ones that are talking about beauty products. Or a group business minded one, so that you can learn from them and vice verse. You have to make sure that you do at least 5 posts a day on the different groups and do not forget your signature,as in the action that they have to take to click on your site.

It is also making sure that when you do your posts, make sure that they are helpful to the reader. You can also write a press release to your friends and ask them to pass it to their friends on their profiles. This way you are using word of mouth to let people know about your business. You have to remember the aim is to generate free leads for your business. Have time slots to do your posts and remember that time is work time. Take some time to go through other posts and groups to find out what they are talking about. So that you will get an idea of what the market is looking for. If you do these posts everyday, you will be able to generate some free leads.

Hope this helps and make it a 90 day plan and weigh the results then.

5 Ways to Add Social Networking to Your Marketing Mix

5 Ways to Add Social Networking to Your Marketing Mix

MySpace. Facebook. YouTube. LinkedIn. Blogs. Podcasting. Unless you've spent the last couple of years living in some cave, you've probably at least heard these terms before. But what you may not know is how to harness their power for your marketing.

And frankly, a lot of that is still up in the air. But thousands of savvy marketers are taking the time to learn how to use this new technology, and are connecting to their market and each other in new, exciting ways.

So this time around, I'd like to give you a crash course in social networking.

Social Networking 101

Don't Sell. People hate advertising. And I'd say that part of the reason so many people are rushing to online social networks in the first place is to GET AWAY from advertising. Sure, these sites are free because they are paid for with online ads, but their users will happily ignore them, and continue clicking away and adding to their Friends lists.

That's because they distrust advertisers. And that's why they turn to their friends, colleagues and other people they trust to tell them what they should and shouldn't buy. So instead of trying to sell them something, offer them something cool for free that they'll want to share with all their friends while promoting your brand in the process.

For example, promoters of The Simpsons movie had a setup on MySpace that let users "Simpsonize" their user pictures, making them look as if they were drawn by Simpsons cartoonists. Nike, Chevy, and other large companies give away free wallpaper MySpacers can customize their pages with.

Now I know what you're saying. "That's fine for large corporations, but I'm a small business. What can I do?"

In short, a lot! You can create a video that showcases your product or service in some unique way, post it on YouTube, your website and blog, and watch it soar.

Are you an author with a published book? Create a MySpace or Facebook page just for your book! This is proving to be a great way to gain a readership and gather together fans of your work.

Remember that it takes time. You can't put your profile on LinkedIn and expect your phone to start ringing off the hook immediately. It takes time and effort to create valuable connections with people, both online and off.

Go where your prospects are. If you're an unsigned band, MySpace or Facebook may give you the shot you need, but if you're a consultant to high-level executives at Fortune 500 companies, Ryze or LinkedIn might do a better job of finding prospects who would be interested in your services.

Know what you want. Ask yourself, "What are my goals?" "What results to I expect?" "Do I want to sell products, increase brand awareness, or just network?" "What results can reasonably be measured?" Asking yourself these questions now can save you a lot of time and headaches later.

Just keep in mind that there's really no easy, direct way to measure your return on investment (ROI) like there is in direct marketing. You may get business six months from now because of someone you met who knows someone who knows someone who needs someone. That's why you need patience to stick with it. And don't give up on your other marketing programs.

Leverage all your usual marketing channels. To really maximize social networking's effectiveness, get the word out the way you normally would. Posting a video of your latest workshop on YouTube is great, but using that site's embedding feature to post the video on your blog or a dedicated page on your website, then announcing said postings to your list and with a press release, is even better.

Also, if you're active on Ryze, LinkedIn, or Facebook, put your profile link on your business card, on the contact page of your website, and even your letterhead. The next time you're at a flesh and blood networking function, ask the other attendees you meet if they are also on these sites. You'll grow your network even faster, and have something else in common with those you meet.

Well, that's it. 5 ways you can leverage the power of social networking for your business. I hope you find it helpful to you in your marketing.

I became interested in Internet marketing during my last year in college. After graduating from Babson College with a marketing degree I took on several jobs working for Internet websites as a consultant on how they could improve their outreach. I thinksthat the best way to help a business of any size is by expanding its horizons on the web. As a mother of 2, I found a way to work from home through the Internet and not leave my kids alone. I believes that a mother can do both work and take care of her family. I have been recommending online jobs for housewives and people who work at home for many years now. This is a way that I can balance the two passions of my life, family and internet marketing.
