Free eBay Coupon Codes - Should I Use Them

Free eBay Coupon Codes - Should I Use Them

I have got emails asking me why people should be using free eBay coupon codes.

I do get a little chuckle because the simple answer is because they are free and the save money. We all know how great it is to save some of our greenbacks but especially in today's economy if we can buy the things we need and still have money left we are one step ahead of the game. I don't want to dwell on the economy because unless you have been under a rock in the last 6 months I'm sure you have heard enough.

The point is free eBay coupon codes work anytime. Even when times are booming it's still nice to be able to save money on your purchases. At the end of the day it should be about you. So if you get a chance to save some bucks then why not?

I can guarantee you that if you are shopping at eBay then yes you should be using the free eBay coupon codes. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Some people have claimed the codes to be a scam because you get the odd one that doesn't work. To me a scam is when you pay for something that doesn't work. If anyone ever asks you for money for these codes run like the wind. I'm not sure you can get scammed when you are getting something for free.

There's no sense wasting your time. If you are a buyer on eBay then why not try out the codes. The worst that can happen is you got a bum code and you don't get the savings on something you were going to buy anyways. There is never a guarantee the codes will work but for the most part free eBay coupon codes do work and it's great when you see the savings.

Should You Buy Drive Image Software?

Should You Buy Drive Image Software?

If you are the person who is responsible for keeping track of all of the data in your company, then you have a responsibility to make sure that it is free from viruses, up to date and that a recoverable backup is always in place. Although you may have some sort of backup software in place, you might also want to consider some of the new drive image software packages that are available.

In many ways, drive image software is handier to have, in that if something happens to your data, you can recover everything at one time, including all of your applications. For companies that have multiple users with applications, individualized preferences and user settings on each computer, then this is far preferable to a basic backup program that just backs up documents.

In fact, one of the most overlooked aspects of backing up any network is what happens if you have to reboot all of the software. Anyone can recover documents fairly easily if you have a backup program, but if you don't have drive image software installed, you may find that getting everyone's software back up and running is a lot more time consuming than you would have thought.

The good news is that even though this type of software is powerful enough to absolutely save your company in a disaster, it doesn't cost a lot. You can buy a software package to back up your drive and create a constantly changing image of your network for an extremely low price, and compared to the price of what it would take to recreate all of that information on your own, it is certainly a bargain. It goes without saying that if it is your responsibility to keep an eye on the data, then you need to make sure you have this software in place.

6 Things That Every Beginning Affiliate Marketer Should Know

6 Things That Every Beginning Affiliate Marketer Should Know

Over the last few years one of the most lucrative ways to make money on online has been through affiliate marketing. When you venture out into this business you must acquire some key traits. You've got to want to learn, you have to be realistic and you need perseverance in order to succeed.

Track and Measure

For each campaign that you run you must track and analyze the results. What are your advertising costs? Your conversion rates etc. You need to know what's working and what isn't if you are to have any chance of succeeding.

You have to be able to track your results for all your campaigns. You must know your conversion rates, your advertising costs how much it cost per customer etc. Having the ability to analyze and know what works for you and what doesn't will only speed up your success rate.

Target Your Campaigns To Your Market

You must target your marketing to those that are looking to buy. In every market there is a percentage of people that will purchase your product. Don't make the mistake of trying to be all things to everyone. You will only end up disappointed.

Never Give up

It's very exciting when you are starting out for the first time. You lie awake at night dreaming of the riches you will be making. All the sales you will make. The problem with this is that it sets your expectations high and when people don't achieve the over night success they quit. Just remember success may be just around the corner. Don't give up keep learning as you go by studying your successes and failures. If you focus on that the money will come.

Set Your Goals

Why do you want to go online? What does it mean to you to become a success? It's a good idea to write down one primary goal that you want to accomplish. Write it down on a 3 x 5 card and look at it every morning and evening. You need to see it so that you stay focused.

Keep An Open Mind

Like every new venture you have to be willing to be open minded and learn new things. Take the time to invest in courses and learn from others success. Don't try and beat down your own path. You may get there eventually that way but it will probably cost you a fortune in the long run. Instead find out who the successful people are and learn from them both successes and failures.

Sometimes You Can Be An Overnight Success

Every now and then you will hear a story of how one person had an overnight success. It's not that uncommon for this to happen to have someone just pick up the business as do well.

On a whole learning this business is a steep slope. You have a lot of skills to pick up and learn along the way. Don't despair though if you're bank account isn't over flowing with money after a couple of weeks. Just keep learning and working on improving your skills and you will be well on your way to online success.

Why Homeowners Should Use Licensed Agency When Renting Out Their Home For 2010 Olympics

Why Homeowners Should Use Licensed Agency When Renting Out Their Home For 2010 Olympics

If you have a home in or near Vancouver, Canada, then you have an opportunity to make a considerable profit by renting your home as 2010 Olympic accommodation. There is a little more to it than just putting an ad online, and there are few things to think about. To find a good renter and to ensure that the whole rental process goes smoothly consider services of a licensed rental agency.

There will be lots of home owners looking to rent their properties out as 2010 Olympic accommodation, maybe even your friends and neighbors. This means that you will have a lot of competition to find a renter. A licensed agency can give you a huge advantage in this department because they have a much better ability to advertise. Remember that potential renters are not local. They are likely to be coming from foreign countries. They will not be familiar with the area and will be much more likely to use and trust a licensed agency. The professionals will know how and where to market to international clients. They already have professional websites established and a reputation that can be checked. It would be very hard for you compete with that power and authority as an individual.

Using a licensed rental agency means that you will pay a commission, but it also means that you can get a higher price for your 2010 Olympic accommodations. A licensed property rental agency will attract a higher caliber of clientele who will be willing to pay a premium to ensure that they are getting what they are expecting and what they are paying for. This means that working though a licensed agency would be beneficial for both the home owner and the renter.

The licensed rental agency will be sure to screen the guests. This is critical since you will be turning over your home to strangers. You want to make sure that they are the type of people who will be respectful and not cause damage to the property. It is also important if you have stipulations about no smoking or no pets. There is no guarantee that nothing bad will happen to your property, but screening the clients will significantly reduce the odds.

Another benefit is that the agency will also ensure that all the proper rental agreements are taken care of. They will also handle the collection of the deposit and all other money transactions for your 2010 rental accommodation. This means that you can be rest assured that you are protected in case anything goes wrong. It also makes it easier on you as you do not have to deal with collecting money from the clients or returning the deposit. That is all handled for you by the rental agency. So you never actually have worry about scams that often occur with money transactions.

Before you hire an agency to manage your 2010 rental property, be sure to ask for their license number and check with licensing bureau if they really exist.

Renting your house as 2010 Olympic accommodation is a great way to make money, but be sure to use a licensed agency to ensure that the experience is a positive one for both you and the renter. You can make more money and have less risk. You will be glad you did.

What You Should Consider Before You Register A Singapore Company

What You Should Consider Before You Register A Singapore Company
Singapore is one of the fastest growing countries in Asia in terms of popularity in the business world. More importantly, the benefits of setting up your own company in Singapore are seamless. But don’t get too excited yet, there are some vital aspects of the business that you need to take note before starting up your own company in Singapore, they are as follows;

- Company Name. Before your company could be incorporated, you must have a company name that should have been approved by the proper authorities.

- Shareholders. A minimum of 1 and a maximum of 50 shareholders are required for a Singapore company. A director and shareholder can hold such position at the same time. The shareholder can be a person or another legal entity such as another company or trust.

- Paid-up Capital.
In order for a Singapore company to be registered, it must have a minimum paid-up capital of S$ 1. This paid-up capital (also known as share capital) may be increased anytime after the incorporation of the company.

- Directors. Your company must have at least one resident director. This requirement is mandatory. A resident is defined to be a Singapore Citizen, a Singaporean Permanent Resident, or a person who has been issued an Entrepass, Employment Pass, or Dependent Pass. There is no limit as to the maximum number of directors, whether local or foreign. Directors must be at least 18 years of age and must not be bankrupt or convicted for any malpractice in the past. There is no requirement for the directors to also be shareholders, thus, non-shareholders can be appointed directors.

- Company Secretary.

Within 6 months of its incorporation, a company must appoint a qualified company secretary. In case of a sole director/shareholder, the same person cannot act as the company secretary. The company secretary must be a natural person and must be a resident of Singapore.

- Registered Address. A local Singapore address must be provided as your company’s registered address in order for your company to be registered. This registered address must be a physical address (can be either a residential or commercial address) thus a PO Box is not a qualified registered address.

Taxation. Attractive tax exemptions and incentives await every Singapore registered company. For the first S$ 300,000 annual profits, your company needs to pay less than 9% and a flat rate of 17% flat thereafter. There is no capital gains or dividend tax in Singapore. These excellent tax benefits in Singapore are one of the key reasons why investors from around the world prefer to form a company in Singapore.

All of the above-mentioned concepts are basic details that will serve as your guideline in starting to have your own company incorporated in Singapore.

Should You Buy Backlinks Or Simply Buy A Backlink

Should You Buy Backlinks Or Simply Buy A Backlink
There is quite a bit of controversy about the right way to use SEO and build backlinks. Should you buy backlinks? Or should you go about building your incoming links the "old-fashioned way". This is one hot topic in worldwide forums and not something that's easily answered. There really is no right or wrong.

In the past, big companies were the only ones that could afford in-house staff or outsourced workers to work on this facet of their online marketing, the facet which many would argue is the most important. Big companies can build enormous websites with hundreds and hundreds of pages. And they can do it very quickly. They have no problems getting backlinks to their sites. In fact, they probably get millions of them which means that the search engines will prefer them.

Small business owners were forced to build their own backlinks. Until recently, they didn't have the resources to have this done for them. So they could in no way compete with the huge corporations that gobbled back links up like candy and forever insured their top spots in search engine rankings.

But it's become easier for the small business person. There are now services that allow the smaller fish in the pond to buy backlink that don't cost an arm and a leg. However, there are some important concepts to keep in mind and things that you need to avoid.

First of all, remember that all backlinks are not the same in quality and that obtaining a bunch of low-quality links can actually harm your search engine ranking rather than improving it. Secondly, while buying backlinks can save you lots of time, it is not cheap and you are at risk for being flagged by Google (in particular) and the other search engines. And you want to make sure that you are not just throwing your money away to any service. Do not choose just the cheapest links to save you money. Do your research first.

Stay away from hundreds of links that all come from the same origin (usually referred to as "link farms"). These are easily tracked and very much frowned upon by the search engines so they will get you nowhere fast. Also steer clear of businesses that advertise the buying and selling of links - these links will also sooner or later be flagged by the search engines and they are not worth the risk. Remember that backlinks have become a very hot commodity.

If you do decide to invest in them, you want to make sure you are getting the quality you pay for. Don't buy backlinks that you must pay for each month. You're better off to buy a backlink each month rather than paying for the same one over and over again. What you pay for your back link may vary. But make sure that you do the research before just choosing any service. Some highly recommended services include LinkVana and Neurolinker.

Register A Limited Company: What You Should Know

Register A Limited Company: What You Should Know

If you have decided to set up your own business for the first thing, you need to register a limited company at Companies House. A limited company can be registered via the paper process or electronically.

A limited company is an organization in which the liability of the shareholders is limited. The company and owners are considered as two separate entities. The company is considered as an artificial person, with its own set of rights, which are different from those of its owner(s). In the event of bankruptcy, the personal wealth of the owner and shareholders remain safe. This is why it is one of the most preferred forms of company incorporation worldwide.

Register a Limited Company: Types

A limited company can be basically divided into two categories: public and private. In most cases, small companies looking to become a limited company become private limited companies and not public limited companies (PLCs).

The differences between the two are explained below:

A private limited company cannot sell its shares on the stock market, whereas a PLC can. A private limited company need not necessarily have a specific number of directors, shareholders or a company secretary. On the contrary, a PLC must have a minimum of two directors, two shareholders and a company secretary. In case of a PLC, a minimum of 50,000 of share capital is required. Conversely, a private limited company does not need minimum share capital to get incorporated. It can be started even without share capital.

A private limited company is also called an unlimited company. If a private limited company decides to go public, it will have to go through a re-registration process.

The other main categories of limited companies are:

Private Company Limited by Guarantee Private Company Limited by Shares

A private company limited by shares can convert into a PLC, but it will need to re-register in order to do this.

Register a Limited Company: Requirements

The elementary requirements to register a limited company are:

Think of a name for your company Check if it is available File an application of registration Appoint a director for your company Appoint a secretary for your company Get a registered address File the essential documents online

Should You Use a Registry Optimizer Program?

Should You Use a Registry Optimizer Program?

The windows registry is a vital part of the operating system, maintaining data on all of the settings and configurations of the various software programs installed on your PC. Over time it is typical for the registry to develop errors and other corruptions, resulting in a decrease in performance and a variety of other problems. To solve this common predicament, you can make use of a registry optimizer program.

These software programs make it easy to automatically scan for errors and correct any problems that are found inside the registry. Editing the Windows registry by hand can be a risky task because even one tiny typo can result in a computer that doesn't work. When you instead choose to rely on software, you can be assured of a safe and efficient cleanup of your registry problems.

Using a registry optimizer program is not difficult. Most popular programs feature a wizard style walk thru of the entire process. The first thing that you will do after downloading your software of choice is to scan your system for problems. If the software detects any anomalies, you will be alerted and given an opportunity to allow the software to correct them.

It is not uncommon for this scan to find thousands of errors on a typical PC. Every time software is added, removed or modified, the registry is read from and written to. Regular use and the installation and uninstallation of software programs all provide the opportunity for problems to develop in the registry.

If your registry scan alerts you to errors, you can simply elect to allow the registry optimizer program to correct them for you automatically. This process is typically very fast and easy. After the software has done the cleanup, you may need to restart your PC for the changes to take effect.

Using a software program to correct problems inside the registry will give you better performance and eliminate many common frustrations such as error messages, system crashes and the dreaded "blue screen". By choosing to repair these problems, you can enjoy much smoother and hassle free computing.

6 Reasons Why You Should Use Blogger

6 Reasons Why You Should Use Blogger

The most popular blogging platform available is Wordpress. Those using the self-hosted version have complete control over every aspect of their blog. Many who do not want to worry about purchasing a host and domain name, and want an alternative should look at Blogger.

I have used Blogger, and continue to use Blogger, to create some of my blogs. While I am also using Wordpress, I like the ability to create free blogs in minutes.

If you are looking at starting a blog, here are some reasons why I still enjoy using Blogger:

It is free. You can't beat this price, no matter how hard you look. It costs nothing to create and manage not one blog, but many blogs.
Google support. Google owns Blogger. When I use Blogger, my blogs get indexed quickly and my blogs are automatically registered and verified in Google's Webmaster tools. No need to remember to do add my blog to Webmaster tools.
Many available templates. While there are not as many templates available as Wordpress, there are still thousands of different Blogger blog templates available to download and use.
Built-in AdSense support. As mentioned above, since Google owns both Blogger and AdSense, it was only natural that they connect the two. Blogger allows you to easily add AdSense ads to your blog. You can also manually add the code as well, if you wish.
Custom domains. By default, your blog will be assigned an address similar to http://[yourblogname].blogspot.com. Instead of using the default address, you can purchase a domain name and then have your blog use that domain name. Blogger provides help on using custom domain names.
Template design control. While Blogger does use it's own proprietary language within the templates, you have total control of the code and HTML within the template. If you can learn the Blogger code structure, you can do some great things with your template.

These are 6 reasons why you should have a look at Blogger if you wish to start a Blogger blog. Within a few minutes, you can have a blog up and running with very little effort.

5 Marketing Materials Every Law Firm Should Evaluate Today

5 Marketing Materials Every Law Firm Should Evaluate Today

Marketing materials can encompass everything from business cards to brochures to signage and are often one of the most overlooked aspects in the day-to-day marketing of law firms. Budgets are tight and time is short, but we've put together a list of five things every firm should evaluate on a regular basis. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes to look them over and see what's working and what needs to be changed.

Your website
Forget the fancy flash animation, client sign-ins and blogs, does your website reflect your firm? Does the color palette reflect your firm personality? Is it clear and easy to read? Can a visitor to the site immediately understand who you are and what you do? If not, it may be time for an update.

Your attorney biographies
An easy way to update your materials, spend an hour creating a short template that all attorney bios need to fit. No more 5-page biographies, keep the information short and relevant to the clients attorneys are trying to land, not the ones they already have. And if it means cutting out a few highlights, so be it. Also keep careful watch on the personal aspects. It's great to be involved in community organizations but limit them to those you are truly involved in on a regular basis, rather than in name only.

Your business cards
Business cards are a cheap and easy way to update your marketing materials. Even the most white-shoe firms can get a little creative when it comes to their cards. Think outside the box...turn them vertical if your logo allows, go for a 2-sided card so that your firm name (or logo) takes center stage on one side or even add a tagline for extra marketing message punch.

Your brochure
With the popularity of the web, firm brochures don't have to be as detailed and chock full of information as they used to be. Use the brochure to highlight your best assets and give a true feel for the firm culture. Does your brochure have personal quotes from firm partners? Does it give statistics on the number of closings you did last year? Does it feel like it truly fits with your other materials or could it be generic to any firm your size? Use the website to get into real details...use your brochure to set the tone.

Your E-mail
It may be simple but having a formatted e-mail signature with your firm logo, tagline (if you have one) and contact information lends an extra air of sophistication to an otherwise basic form of communication. Have them personalized for each attorney, secretary and paralegal...it will be a small detail that people will notice.

A short list...but an important one. By regularly reevaluating even the simplest of marketing tools, you will make it easier to continually present a modern and up-to-date visual representation of your firm.

Which is the Social Media Platform Any Internet Marketer Should Use?

Which is the Social Media Platform Any Internet Marketer Should Use?

I remember some years ago, while I was waiting in the barber shop and going without meaning through the magazines on the table, an article got my attention. It was about something called weblogs. This is the first time I heard of Web 2.0 and frankly I didn't even thought I could end in writing on one of them.

Last year, something new came to my attention, something called Twitter. Something everybody is talking about and everybody wants to join. And I'm in there too.

Nowadays, I'm aware of the features of these two sides of Web 2.0 and I'm learning to use them as components of my internet marketing machine. If you want to know, I'm convinced any online marketer should integrate to his strategy a blog, better if Wordpress managed, and a Twitter account to get the most out of the internet social media system. In the end, they are not so different form each other, aren't they?
Let's have a look at their common features.

Interaction
Interaction is the main feature of Web 2.0 and both Twitter and Wordpress are conceived to fulfill this one.
A blog can accept comments from the readers. The publisher can answer to these comments and this way more and more interactive content is created while information is exchanged. A community grows out of this process and it gets stronger with some subscription options like RSS. Your tweets can get read by all your followers and they can send you a message back. It's the same thing as SMSs, only, you are sending your message to all the people participating in your community.

Content distribution
Both blogs and Twitter are a way to distribute content inside a network. The form the content is presented can be different, but the substance is the same. Plus, links can be used in both platform to add more information to the one published.

Syndication
We already talked about RSS. Real Simple Syndication systems allows anybody running a blog to create an RSS feed of the content published, which can be used by readers to consume the information in a different way, through a feed reader. The same, your Twitter gets an RSS feed with all your updates, and you can use it to improve your visibility and your presence on the market outside your network.

These are just some of the common features of Twitter and Wordpress, but they are enough to make you understand how the two can be essential to the social media strategy of an online marketing campaign and how you should find a way to make them work together.

If you want to learn how to achieve this, you can read my book, Twitter with Wordpress showing how you can combine their features to multiply the traffic of your website and boost your online business.

4 Reasons Why Your Charity Should Register

4 Reasons Why Your Charity Should Register
1. Internal Revenue Service (IRS):

In financial reporting to the IRS, CPAs, Accountants, and Auditors are aware of the various states' registration requirements. They may require that your nonprofit register or mention that it has not done so in their audit reports for their own credibility and legal responsibility.

2. State Laws:

Thirty nine states and the District of Columbia have laws that require non-profit organizations to register before solicitating funds/monies in their states. Failure to register (which is clearly breaking and defying the state's law) can result in substantial fines and/or other penalties. For example, in Pennyslvania there is a minimum fine of $ 1000 and the state can order the organization to 'Cease and Desist' soliciting funds until registered. Many states have become more aggresive and diligent going after non-profits for failure to register. A state can discover the organization through a number of ways; from as benign as an inquiry from the public to obtain information, tv and other media ads, to an active complaint. With state budgets as strapped as they are these days, going after, exposing, and making an example of unregisterd non-profits can be an effective and popular activity demonstating the state's responsibility to Protect the Public as well as a lucrative stategy to replenish state coffers.

3. Donors:

There's an old and honored expression: "There's no Second Chance at a First Impression". If one of the first questions a potential donor asks of a solicitor for a non-profit is "Are you registered with the state?" and the answer is "I don't know" or "No we are not" then the image immediately created is one of a non-compliant, perhaps amateurish, even illegal organization certainly not worthy of funding. Its a matter of TRUST. Saavy funders are aware of their state's requirements. Laws are in place to Protect the Public from unscrupulous and dishonest organizations scheming to steal and defraud. Some states even provide a listing on the internet of non-profits who fail to register. That can mean an immediate loss of income as well as perhaps an order preventing further solicitation as well as a unrecoverable loss of trustworthiness.

4. A Non-Profit's Board of Directors:

Liability. Board members can be held personally liable. Separate from many other debts and liabilities of a nonprofit, if a non-profit is fined and penalized for failure to register with a state, the board of directors can be held personally liable for those fines. In addition, several state solicitation laws and regulations provide that a nonprofit cannot reimburse its directors, officers, or employees for such penalites and fines. By Registering the organization, such fear of financial liabilites can be aleviated. Many potential board members may want to know that the non-profit has registered in each state where funds are being solicitated before they join the board. This is for their own protection.

By law, a nonprofit does not have the right to solicit contributions in any of the states that require registration. Therefore, funds solicitated before registering are in legal limbo or in legal jeopardy meaning that a court can order the non-profit to make full restitution for any and all monies or contributions obtained during the period of violation. If a donor leaves a gift to a non-profit in a Will and an heir discovers the organization was not registered at the time of the solicitation, action could be taken to recover the gift or get it set aside. Such a case is now precedent.

What Are Canonical URLs and Why Should You Use Them?

What Are Canonical URLs and Why Should You Use Them?

Canonical URL’s are a relatively new term which refer to the new ability of a webmaster to let search engines such as Google and Yahoo know which is the best version of a web page to index using a meta tag. This not only enables webmasters to suggest a recommended version of the page but it can also help to decrease the risk of being penalized for duplicate content when the same page reflects almost identical content. You can use canonical URL’s when you create your free website or when you create blog websites.

What are Canonical URL’s?

When you create your free website you should include some meta tags. One of these meta tags can be the canonical meta tag which will tell search engines which version of your web page it should index. If, for example, you have a web page that displays search results in different orders then you could have the search engines reflect the alphabetical listing as the canonical URL. You could also specify canonical URL’s when you create blog websites to let the search engines know which version of your blog you want visitors to find.

Canonical URL’s and the Duplicate Content Problem

A while back search engines started penalizing websites for displaying duplicate content. In some situations this was important or relevant as it helped to prevent problems with plagiarism but in other cases it could cause problems when web pages were deliberately virtual copies of one another – such as displaying the same content in different manners for the benefit of the reader. Fortunately, if you have duplicate content on your free website that is legitimately there you can now use the canonical meta tag to let search engines know that you are not committing plagiarism but that this content is there for a reason and which version of the page you would like visitors to see by default.

When to Use Canonical URL’s

There are a number of different occasions when search engines may pick up duplicate or almost duplicate content on your website, thereby making canonical URL appropriate. Some of these occasions are:

When you are using a tracking id or are going to be using affiliate links to promote your web page with different versions of the same page for affiliates.

When a category page is almost identical to the main page.

When a page can be sorted in a number of different ways such as alphabetically, by price, etc.

When determining whether you should use a canonical URL think about how your page may be called. If it is a static page with only one way of obtaining that information and there is no other page with very similar content then you may get away with not using the canonical URL meta tag. If you have a dynamic page or any other page on your free website contains very similar information or duplicate content or if you are going to be using tracking and session id’s when you call the page then it is best to use the canonical URL meta tag.

Canonical URL’s help search engines to determine whether a website really does contain duplicate content and the reason for it. By specifying those pages on your website that are likely to have duplicate content or very similar content to a base page you can avoid being penalized for duplicate content. Use this whenever you have dynamic pages on your free website as well as when you create blog websites.

Should You Get A Home Power Generator

Should You Get A Home Power Generator

If you’ve ever felt the effects of a black out that lasted for hours, you probably want to get your own home generator by now. Batteries run out faster than we know, especially if the duration of the power outage is longer than we expected. A home generator can be your temporary source of electricity when there’s a power outage.

If your state is disaster prone, you need a generator to deal with the power interruptions. Here are some tips for you if you’re thinking of buying your very first home generator.

One common mistake is getting a generator that’s either too big or too small for your needs . Consider the number of appliances you regularly use and how many people are using electricity inside your home. A bit of computation will do you good. Look at your average electricity consumption and use that as basis for choosing a home generator.

Get a generator that gives just a little over your average consumption. You don’t want to cause an overload. You also need to consider the expense of keeping a larger generator.

Diesel and propane are the usual fuel for generators. But there are those that can use solar energy and wind energy. Although solar or wind energy are great, but solar panels and wind mills need to be installed (and these are not cheap).

Select between portable generators and standby generators. Portable generators are cheaper, and can be brought along when you need to evacuate. A standby model can only be kept in one place, but the power output is greater than that of the portable model. Some generators can automatically detect power outages and are ideal for disaster prone places.

Also, consider what you need the generator for. Portable generators may not be enough to power your business. Most restaurants and hotels use standby generators. If your area is not in the disaster belt, you can go for the portable ones. Portable generators are more useful for those who go on road trips and camping vacations.

Can your home accommodate a large generator? A standby generator needs a permanent location in the house. Be careful not to expose your generator to the elements. Get a waterproof cover for your generator so that you can use it longer.

Choose the brand of generator carefully. Some brands are known to produce only quality products. There are times when expensive types are less prone to breakdowns.

As an alternative, you can also look at generator rental as a solution.

Internet Marketing - 3 Top Social Networks Every Internet Marketer Should Be Using

Internet Marketing - 3 Top Social Networks Every Internet Marketer Should Be Using

Social marketing is the newest way to promote your website for large amounts of targeted traffic. The popularity alone makes this a tremendous medium for internet marketers in any niche. Other benefits make this extremely successful also. Networking, building a strong reputation, helping people solves problems, instant traffic, and other helpful benefits make social marketing a must in any marketing toolbox.

The one caveat to this whole thing is that there are literally millions of social networks on the internet today. With about 2,500 new ones being started each day, that leaves internet marketers with a big problem. Which ones to be connected on?

1.) Twitter Is The King

Twitter is the king of all social networking websites. Twitter is what is called a microblog that simply asks the question "What are you doing?" Your answer to that question can only come in the form of 140 characters. The beauty of this is that that's enough.

Twitter allows you to follow people who you want to connect with and engage them in real time conversation. These conversations can come in the form replies to either your tweets (twitter lingo for update) or theirs. Updating your Twitter stream with information, answers to questions, blog posts, links to products, or just glimpses into your everyday life will guarantee you constant traffic.

2.) Get Your Face on Facebook

Following closely begin Twitter is Facebook. Facebook is a network much like MySpace but with a more mature atmosphere. Marketers can benefit from Facebook with several great features like Fan pages and the ability to form groups. By starting either one of these you can send updates to the people who join them, interact with them, and learn from them. Facebook is also powerful as it can be synced with your Twitter stream and be automatically updated whenever you update Twitter.

3.) Stumble Over Digg

This is really two social networking sites, but they closely resemble each other. StumbleUpon and Digg are social bookmarking websites where you can show people who you are friends with the sites you like. When interacting on these sites you are suggesting websites and either "stumbling" or "digging" sites that they suggest. When your site pages are stumbled or dugg by users (and they will be if you are active enough) that means more visitors to your site.

Put Social Marketing into Your Campaign

Getting into social marketing is as simple as creating profiles and interacting. The hard part comes in choosing which networks to be involved in. Choose these three to start and get comfortable with it, then you can get more involved with more focused to your niche.

SEO - Why Should You Care About Promoting Your Website

SEO - Why Should You Care About Promoting Your Website

Are wallet-in-hand customers finding your website when they search for your product or do they find your competition?

In layman's terms, that is the first question we help you answer.

With very few exceptions, people searching for products or services to buy online rarely know what websites to visit. They rely on the search engines to get them a collection of relevant choices of places where they can spend their money.

From those choices returned very few of them will click past the 10th result on the list before making a purchasing decision. If your website is not within those first 10 results, your website does not get a chance to present your product. Furthermore, your search listing plays in the mind of customers: List order must mean reputation order. This means that you don't get to sell and your website is useless to everyone except your web designer and the hosting company.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the science of making strategic changes to your website in order to make search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN choose your website to appear within the first few search results when people search for a predetermined set of terms (keywords). This definition alone raises 2 questions

Do you mean that my website is may not be showing up in Search Engine results right now?
I won't show up for every keyword I want and that I will have to choose only a set of them?

Most people, even those with websites, believe that just because they pay for hosting, is going to make their website visible to people searching for the product they sell. Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. Website owners are surprised to find out that when you search for a product on Google or Yahoo the results they see are not all the websites that are in the internet selling what they want to purchase; they only see the results for the websites that are indexed for that particular keyword. So, what happens to those who are selling products but are not indexed? They are not found anywhere and no one buys from them; soon they blame everything as being too complicated and like 99.5 in every 100 shutdown within the first year.

Aren't the search engines responsible to index everyone?

If you want to be found by customers you have to invest in SEO. Internet advertising and SEO are the keys to relevant traffic to your website.

Wait, why should they? They are businesses that provide search services for free; they can do what they want. They try to be fair and equitable but they don't have to. Search engine competition is the single and only driver to force search engines to live up to the claim of giving you relevant content to your searches.

10 Reasons Small Businesses Should Use Paid Search Engine Marketing:

10 Reasons Small Businesses Should Use Paid Search Engine Marketing:
1. User-driven -Traditional forms of advertising
usually have to get people's attention when they are
not necessarily interested. In contrast, search engine
marketing, specifically Pay per Click (PPC) marketing,
is an easy and effective way to reach your customers
at the very moment they are searching for your
offerings.

2. Flexible cost &budgeting -With search engine
marketing, you only pay for clicks to your ads.
Typically you establish your pay-per-c1ick budget and
the amount of money you are willing to pay for a
visitor to land on your page. This makes it easy to
scale things up or down based on your return on
investment or other factors.

3. Wide reach -Paid search marketing is by far the
cheapest paid form of marketing that enables you to
reach a local, global or nationwide audience in the
shortest period of time.

4. Targeting -Most search engines give you the
ability to target your market by geography,
demographics, by time of day and day of the week.
When combined with keyword specificity, unique
offers and well-written ads, you can focus tightly on
your target market. This ensures that the majority of
people viewing your ads are qualified prospects.

5. Realistic for all businesses -Since you control
the budget and cost of traffic, PPC advertising allows
businesses of all sizes to advertise and reach their
target customers. PPC marketing "levels the playing
field" for small businesses, especially if your campaign
research results in the right keywords. With the right
campaign management, your ad can be placed
immediately above or below a larger competitor. This
effectively allows you to compete without having to
substantially outbid the larger advertiser.

6. Brand visibility -Paid search marketing is a great
complement to other marketing activities. We have
seen that users tend to use a search engine
immediately upon seeing or hearing an offline ad
(print, television, radio) or reading offline marketing
collateral. Search engine visibility via the pay-per-c1ick
ad act as signposts to direct people to the website.

7. Immediate results -The research, setup and
implementation cycle of pay-per-click campaigns can
take place in just a few days, as opposed to natural
search engine rankings, which usually requires weeks
or months to gain desired rankings. Pay-per-click
campaign results are immediate: The day your ad is
placed, the clicks to your website begin!

8. Campaign control -You have complete control of
all aspects of your campaign. Due to the measurable
results of search engine marketing, keywords and ad
messages can constantly be tested and improved.
The most successful words and messages can be
included in your other marketing tools and programs
such as marketing materials, your website and direct
marketing.

9. Real-time tracking -Metrics such as effectiveness
of keywords and phrases, ad traffic generated and ad
conversions provide campaign managers with the
data to alter campaigns almost in real-time. Unlike a
printed piece or mailer, the lag time to judging ad
effectiveness is hours, not days, so you can respond
quickly to either good or bad performing ads.

10. Measurable -Every click provides valuable
answers to your performance questions. What
keywords lead users to your website? What ads
interest potential customers? How many visitors from
those clicks become sales leads? Based in the results
of your search engine marketing program, keywords
and ad messaging can constantly be adjusted to
maximize your ROI.

Should I Approve A Pingback To My Blog?

Should I Approve A Pingback To My Blog?
Pingbacks are quite common in the blogging world. If you have a Wordpress blog, odds are you are constantly receiving pingback requests from other blogs that have similar articles to yours and have already linked to your blog or a page on it. If this is the case, then a pingback is essentially a request for you to return the favor and place a return link to the blog that linked to you through the use of a pingback comment.

A pingback comment is an automated comment placed in the comments section of a post page that points to the web page that linked to you. This is a way to professionally acknowledge the links as well as point back to other articles that are similar and that may be of interest to your reader. In short, it is a link exchange, one of the oldest forms of internet traffic exchange. Link exchange can be very beneficial if you are trading apples for apples. However, if you are an article marketer, there is a disturbing phenomenon among autobloggers designed to syphon away your site's trust and rank. How does it work?

It is a very simple process. In most article directories Terms Of Service (TOS), you will find a note stating that is a common courtesy to notify article marketers if you are syndicating their article to your site. Automated blogs are doing this through pingbacks. However, also in the article directories TOS, there is a note stating that the article remains unaltered upon publishing. This is not happening. Many autobloggers have been applying the nofollow attribute to syndicated article resource box links and then initiating a pingback. If the original article marketer has removed the nofollow attribute from their blog so as to promote dialogue and approves the pingback, then a nofollow link has been trade for a dofollow link and trust and rank has beed syphoned away from your blog.

For this reason, I check each and every pingback to see if the nofolow attribute has been applied to my article. If it has, I do not approve the pingback. If it hasn't, I do approve the pingback.

What Blogging is and Why You Should Care

What Blogging is and Why You Should Care

If the term blogging doesn't ring up  bell in your ears, then it's probably time we taught you what it was, to help you remain up-to-date with the current trends. Remember, gadgets, cell phones, electronic goods, be it anything in this world, it becomes obsolete in just few months, and maybe even us humans are next in the queue.

Many people just think of blogging as a personal diary or even a past time, or rather a hobby, though in reality it can turn out to be lot bigger than just a past time. Many accomplished bloggers make as much as $ 10,000-$ 50,000 on a monthly basis, so blogging is not child's play, by any means.

The first reason why you should really care about learning the art of blogging is the sheer fact that it can serve as a replacement for your full time job, and yield handsome returns. Moreover, you don't really need to travel anywhere, nor spend a penny to learn blogging. As a matter of fact, blogging is as easy as learning how to use a computer, though mastering the art of making money through blogging is not equally easy.

The first and foremost thing that you must do, in order to learn the skills necessary to become a successful blogger, is to create your first personal blog targeting the area of your interest. Once you put up some good informative content on your blog, it is necessary that you popularize it over the internet to drive heavy traffic.

You can resort to link building campaigns, post comments on other's blogs and include a back link to your blog, post threads in forums and generally just increase the number of backlinks to your site.

Moreover, you can submit your blog URL to all the popular search engines like Google, Yahoo!, MSN, AOL, ASK and the likes of them. You can also submit your latest posts to sites like digg, delicious, reddit and many more. There are actually thousands of these sites if you look for them.

You should next plan to create a big community of followers on Facebook, Linkedln, Twitter, Wordpress, blogger and other similar social networking platforms to increase the popularity of your blog.

Having done so, you're all set to make some handsome revenues with the help of online advertising programs like Google AdSense, ClickBank, text-link-ads, Adbrite and many more.

Sure , blogging can be good fun, but the essence of learning the art of blogging is far beyond fun and entertainment. If you start slowly and then introduce yourself to new ideas over time, the blogging world really is your oyster.
