For me, how to increase your page rank in Google is not rocket science. The key is without doubt to obtain as many backward links as possible, however these links have to be not only reciprocal links but also one way links. In this article, I describe simple ways of how to obtain both of these types of links.

I am fairly sure, that most people who have a website are looking at the best ways of increasing their page rank in google. In this article I give free tips on how I believe you should go about doing this. These techniques are what I use on all of my websites.


I have spent huge amounts of money on search engine optimisation, which I now feel is wasted cash. For me, by far and away the most important thing is to obtain as many backward links to our websites as possible. Non reciprocal links are of much higher value as they are seemingly harder to get. I actually disagree with this last point, if you write articles, like the one you are reading, one way links can be obtained quite easily, more on this later. Quick tip, start writing articles now, with the flood of blogs now joining the web, writing articles are without doubt, going to be the best and easiest way of obtaining one way links.


Non reciprocal links


To ask a person who has a website to add a link to your website for no reason, or without you adding a link back in return, is unlikely to meet a positive response.


To obtain these non reciprocal links my advice is to:


Write articles. Writing articles is an excellent way of gaining non reciprocal or one way links. Other webmasters are able to use your article on their website, including the links to your website. The article website you submit the article to, also gives you this one way link on their site.

What does RSS mean?

RSS may mean three different things. The original RSS (RDF Site Summary RSS 0.9) was developed by Dan Libby for Netscape. They can also track for changes and updates using news aggregators, which will be discussed later on.

How does RSS work?

If you're using a personal webpage building system, you need to understand more about RSS. Making an RSS feed from scratch is relatively easy.

A RSS feed should always contain an "item", whichever version of RSS you might use. If you wrote about a recent event in your city or a book review, the contents of this article can form an item. An item is essentially composed of three things: a title, its description, and link (where they can find your webpage). In choosing a title and description, use something that will describe the web content best. Although it will be easier for you, it doesn't follow that the title tag of your webpage and the item title are the same.

This can give a web user a better understanding of what other people think about a company, product or service. Not all Google local results showcase reviews. To find information on the millions of web pages that exist, a search engine crawls website pages and ranks them according to the contents on the pages. In order to build and maintain a useful list of words, web spiders are constantly going out to sites and collecting and storing the information from those sites, so that when someone searches for certain keywords in search engines, they are provided the most accurate results.


Not all search engines work and store information the same. They are always finding more ways of ranking and storing. When it comes to ranking, each engine has a different formula for assigning importance to the words that it indexes. It is important to know the basics of how to set up your website so that they are able to rank your website easily and efficiently.


So how to you get started to ranking higher?


Placement of words on the page. Search engines assign more weight to those words that are bold, closer to the top of the web page, and the number of times a word or phrase appears on a single page. This includes not only the text that appears in paragraphs, but also text that appears as headings, subheadings, links, and image description (alt tags).
Use of Heading tags. What are Heading Tags? Headings and subheadings are made up of your "heading {h tags}." Web spiders pay special attention to these tags and give them priority over other text style options. Heading tags traditionally are made up of: h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6. Heading one {h1} takes highest priority and heading six {h6} takes the least priority of the heading tags, according to the way your website content is ranked.
Use of Meta Tags. What are Meta Tags? Meta tags are the tags housed within the "head" area of your website code. There are different meta-tags that you can use, but the two main meta-tags are the description meta-tag and the keywords meta-tag. The description meta-tag gives individuals a brief description of the pages of your website when they search for relevant words. So, your description meta-tag is what viewers actually see and read when they get search results. By contrast, your keywords meta-tag are not seen by the viewer, but help the search engines index your website.
