Don't worry, I have personally faced many of the burning frustrations of an Internet Marketer. I used to work for 18 hours a day, toiling in front of the computer, buying the latest and greatest products online that promised me the moon and the earth.


What eventually happened was that I ended up losing a lot of money and to make matters worse, I was spoiling my health and I had very little time for my family and friends.


What's worse, I became more and more frustrated, irritable and angry.


If you are experiencing the same problems and frustrations, it is time to look at what you are doing.


1. The Next Shining Thing: This is a common problem that many Internet Marketers face. When I first started out, I used to constantly buy products- one after another without giving much thought as to whether I really need the product or whether it would suit my business model. So before you even think about buying the next product ask yourself- "What can I do with the products and course I already have?"


2. Time Spent in Front of Your Computer Means Nothing: One day, I sat down and noted the actual time I worked. I was shocked to see that I really worked for only 15 minutes even though I spent as many as 16 hours a day in front of the computer.


Did you know what I was doing for the rest of the time?


a. Browsing through forums
b. Reading ebooks
c. Watching video tutorials
d. Checking emails

Add Active Subscribers to You List - Part 3 - Maximize Email Click Through Rates

Once your email is opened you now have the opportunity to present your readership with some good quality content.  Most of the time you will want to capitalize on an active reader and have him or her click on a link in your email that directs them to a page on your website or blog.  The amount of people who click on your link compared to the amount that open your email is called your click through rate.  Maximizing your click through rate means more people will see your website or sales offer and more traffic.


You can complete this step concurrently with the previous step of analyzing your email open rates.  The process is very similar.  Firstly, look through your email inbox and take a note of the emails that you read and visit the links within.  Take a note of who they are from and what they are writing about.  Also take note of their style of writing - long, short, to the point, in stories etc.  This will form the basis of the style of emails that you will start to test with.


Again, I recommend you write and load your autoresponder with at least 20 emails. For best click through rates think about targeting your information closely to your subscribers needs and wants; you have to know your audience.  If you don't know your audience ask them what they want or ask them for their most pressing questions about your niche or topic.  I have found it better to write short to medium emails providing one or two tips rather than long theoretical articles.  Plus I always have just one link per email, just one desired action and no choices.


Once you have had at least 100 subscribers receive your first 20 emails you should look at your 5 lowest performing emails and change the content of that email.


Then after another 100 subscribers receive your emails check their performance again.  Continue to rewrite the 5 worst performing emails and you will notice your open rates will begin to rise.

In Part I of our blog series, we explained the "New Rules" for physician compensation based on the post-  reform healthcare system. As we stated, physicians are at the epicenter of one of the most dramatic periods of change in America's healthcare system.  The rules and strategies for physician success are changing rapidly, and most physicians are struggling to understand it. 


The U.S government has made their claim on the American healthcare system and offered up their requirements for physician change, as put forth in the Annals of Internal Medicine, noting "physicians will need to embrace rather than resist change". Change is inevitable. Now, physicians will need to decide what they will change into. Will you become the physician our government wishes you to be or will you forge a new path to capitalize on these changes for your own career path? Regardless of your choice, you will need to understand the "New Rules" and change the way you think and practice.

This article will focus on the "New Rules" for managing the administrative side of a healthcare practice.


Managing a Healthcare Practice


Old Rule: Managing a medical practice could be handled by administrative people with general administrative skills.


New Rule: The complexity and risk of managing a medical practice has skyrocketed, requiring highly specialized expertise. 4,000 new regulations per year are created that affect physicians. Physicians cannot find the required level of expertise in one or two administrative persons. Outsourcing to specialized firms will become the norm.


Old Rule: Doctors could get away with being "low-tech".


New Rule: Patients, insurance carriers and the government will expect physicians to be high-tech. Physicians who are not high-tech will be limiting their income and value to patients and become employees of systems that are.


Old Rule: The billing function of a medical practice could be performed by regular administrative staff.


New Rule: With unintentional billing fraud on the increase, identity theft running rampant and regulatory fines on the increase, physicians must ensure that their billing is done professionally by certified coders with multiple layers of protection in place.


Old Rule: A healthcare practice was not considered a "business".


New Rule: Structuring a practice around sound business principles and an understanding of healthcare economics will become increasingly important in order to survive. Those physicians who run their practice on business principles will survive. Those  who don't will be absorbed by those who do.


Old Rule: The duties of contracting with payers could be handled by the regular administrative staff.


New Rule: Contracting will become increasingly complicated from a legal and business point of view, requiring specialized expertise. Outsourcing the contracting function of a practice will become more prevalent. Additionally, for those practices getting into "Retail Medicine", expertise will need to be acquired for pricing and packaging of services.


Summary


The administration of healthcare practices has become increasingly sophisticated. The vast majority of practices and administered by under-qualified and under-trained staff. Physicians are reluctant to pay for the level of talent that the practice requires. The post-healthcare reform system will increase in complexity. Success of physician practices will depend largely on the talent managing it.

When using Google AdWords, your landing page should always be highly relevant to the ad you're placing. The higher the relevancy of your ad, the better the price of your CPC per keyword. That's just how Google does business. Don't try to fool customers by sending them to some page you think they'll like better (or for whatever other reason you might have to do so); in the end you'll just be sabotaging yourself. Google knows how relevant your ads are by how much time someone who clicks on your ad stays on your landing page, as well as how many times the searched keyword appears on your landing page. There are other factors in the Google relevancy equation, however, the entire formula isn't revealed by Google.


Landing Page Optimization is equally as important as ad optimization in Google AdWords. If someone clicks on your ad and find themselves on a page which is not directly related to the ad they clicked on, the chances are that you've just wasted the money you spent on that click. Maybe your ads have a great CTR, but if your cost per conversion is horrible your CTR doesn't mean anything. Say you're advertising a Harry Potter book; don't link the clicker to the bookstore homepage, link them to the exact page where the Harry Potter book can be bought. If your ad mentions some sort of specific deal, make that deal visible on your landing page.


As mentioned above, your landing pages are just as relevant as the ads they're linked from; this is why you should also split test landing pages (if you own the domain you're using to advertise of course). To split-test landing pages, make two identical ads and just change the landing page links (you want the ads to be identical because otherwise you won't know what the discrepancy in cost per conversion is due to). If you don't know anything about "web -copywriting" and you have access to the source code of your capture page, you should definitely read a web-copywriting book. Testing your own ideas and layouts of landing pages can also be great, but knowing what really sparks interest in the human mind could save you a lot of money.

These step are based on the WordPress 2.7 version, which is the newest version to date.


CREATING A NEW POST


1. New Post button: Click on the New Post button and then type in your title in the title field. Titles are seen in summaries on RSS feeds, so it is very important to have a strong title with keywords whenever possible.


2. Blog Post: Now write your blog post in area provided and format it with font colours, headers, paragraph font, and add media such as pictures, video, and/or audio.


3. Excerpt: Go to the Excerpt field and write a quick, keyword-rich excerpt or summary of your blog post.


4. Trackback Links: If you have discussed another person, especially a blogger or their article, be sure to put a trackback link to let them know.


5. Discussion: Go to the discussion field and allow or disallow comments on your post. I always allow comments on my blog but do not allow them when I create a page. By default, “allow pingbacks” is set. Leave the setting and allow pingbacks.


6. Tags: add tags as per the previous instructions and remember that they are particular to each post you create.


7. Categories: choose and select the most appropriate category for your post


8. Publish: go up to the publish box and adjust the settings as you want them. You can publish immediately, set a future date, or save it as a draft.


Congratulations!! You have just created a blog post!


CREATING A NEW PAGE


1. New Page: Click on the drop down arrow on the New Post button and click on New Page. As with creating a new post, type in your title in the title field.


2. New Page Content: Now write the content for your new page in area provided and format it with font colours, headers, paragraph font, add media such as pictures, video, and/or audio. Remember that pages are static content and are used for “About Us”, “Contact Us”, and so on.


3. Discussion: Go to the discussion field and allow or disallow comments on your post. I normally do not allow comments on my pages, but do allow them on my blog posts. By default, “allow pingbacks” is set and you can leave it at that.


4. Attributes:


a. Parent: you can choose to have this page be a main page, or a subpage of an already established page. Read the example they give in this area.


b. Template: If your theme has custom templates for pages, you will see them in the drop down list-you can apply a template to the page you just created if you want to. See the example given.


c. Order: you can change the order of how your pages appear on the navigation bar. Read the example given.


5. Publish: go up to the publish box and adjust the settings as you want them. You can publish immediately, set a future date, or save it as a draft.


Congratulations!! You have just created a New Page!

For the benefit of everyone who is new to blogging, I have decided to start a 2-part series on the subject. Basically, it is everything you will ever need to know about blogging - what it is, why you need it and the strategies involved to maximize its potential.


As some of you would have known, the term "blog" really comes from the shortened definition for weblog. In retrospect, weblog refers to a form of website which is used to keep a "log" on everything that is known under the sun.


Only as recent as several years ago, this form of website is mostly only used as a form of online journal which curtailed every detail of their lives which was then shared among their family members and a select group of friends. While this is still the case today, it has grown to be THE most popular form of website to be found over the Internet for all Internet users and even search engines.


Nowadays, "weblogs" are an effective form of content publication with as wide a topic there is to be published - topics related to parenting, sports, personal interests, Internet marketing and..just about any and every imaginable topic there is really.


Simply put, a blog is a unique form of website which is used to publish whatever form of content at the owner/creator/blogger's convenience. In addition, it allows for an interactive relationship between the visitors/readers and the publisher in the form of comments in relation to the published post. From here, you would have already spotted one of the differences between the "new form of website" to that of a conventional static website whereby the content of the latter often remain the same from the very start generally speaking.


On the other hand, the former is seen as an more effective tool of marketing since it allows for interaction between different parties - publisher and audience; as well as audience among themselves whereby the comments of readers are "quoted" by a different reader(s) who provides his/her additional feedback to the topic as well as comment in question. These comments can be used by the owner to gauge the performance of his/her company or product/service in question and with that, serve as a basis for further marketing strategies.

Next, find out what keywords and phrases they are claiming great results with. It's easy to get high rankings with unpopular words. For example, the keyword "cat leashes" will get high popularity ranking because no one else would think of using it. What you are looking for is good results using popular keywords.


Next, look for good results over an entire site that the company claims to have effectively worked for. You want to see a wide range of positions over a number of different
search engines using different keywords or phrases for the entire site. Ask for a report for any client the company claims to have done well for. This report should show good
positions on a number of the most popular search engines for a range of different, popular keywords and phrases.

WP E-Commerce Review For WordPress - Part I

WP e-Commerce plugin for WordPress seems to be one of the most commonly used (currently 175,000+ downloads) shopping cart system across the board. I've been testing the latest version 3.6.10 and it has a lot of additional features compared to review on eShop I wrote recently.


The WP e-Commerce WordPress Plugin was developed by a New Zealand company called Instinct. Since this company has dedicated funds and resources to this plugin, I presumed they would want to make money from selling this plugin. Lucky for us, they didn't and have been giving away this plugin for free. Though, the first thing you will see on the front page of their website is the following:

The WordPress e-Commerce plugin is a state-of-the-art e-Commerce platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards and usability. It is both free and priceless at the same time.


Now, being the state of the art e-commerce plugin is a bold statement and I have tested out numerous e-commerce software that I will be comparing this too. Let me review this plugin to test if their statement is true.


THE PROS
Easy Installation


It took me less than 5 minutes to upload and install without any errors or conflict with other plugins so far. I could easily find the newly created section in WordPress administration called e-Commerce. It contained Sales, Products, Groups, Variation, Marketing and Settings links making it very easy to find what you need. I am glad they did this and made it simple.


Well Defined Categories / Groups Section


There is a self-explanatory tab that says Groups which allows you to add unlimited categories and subcategories to your shop. It's very standard to see this available in e-commerce systems and it's great to see this part of WP e-Commerce plugin. In comparison to other WordPress shopping cart plugins they utilize pages to separate categories and it becomes a total nightmare without proper documentation.


Adding Products Is Easy


Adding products is easy when you click on the Products link. It offers a wide range of settings to customize your products including price and stock controls, shipping and weight settings, product variations, merchant notes, product downloads, coupon codes and promotions. These are very important when you have different products to sell and helps you distinguish between A and B product.


Widgets make customization a breeze


What I've found quite handy are the customizable widgets that you can install on your sidebar as part of this plugin. A common widget people have on their website is the shopping cart. Having this displayed allows a customer to see what they have currently selected, then head to the checkout section to pay for all their items. The new widgets you'll see in this plugin are: Shopping Cart, Groups, Categories, Price Range, Product Specials, Latest Products, Price Range and Donations. You can select anyone of those to display on WordPress at any time.


Profit Using Marketing And Cross Promotion Tools Provided


Under the Marketing link it allows you to offer coupon codes for any product in your range. It's a great way to encourage your customers to shop with the coupon code to follow through with a purchase. It's a definite plus for me to have this tool built into the system. Some additional options you can switch on are:


• Cross Sales within your shop
• Show Share This (Social Bookmarks)
• How Customer Found Us Survey option


Many Payment Gateways Available and SSL Connection Included


WP e-Commerce comes with a few pre-installed payment gateways including Chronopay, PayPal, PayPal - Express, Google Checkout, and manual payment (for cash or money orders). If you want other payment gateways they offer such as Authorize.net or eWay, then you will have to purchase the Gold Cart Module. Also all transactions are processed securely through an SSL connection if you have SSL installed on your server.
