A Must Read For Every Medical Student and Clinician - The Wills Eye Manual

A Must Read For Every Medical Student and Clinician - The Wills Eye Manual

Every English major owns a collection of Norton anthologies and Penguin classics. Every law student owns a copy of Jill Poole's standard textbook on contract law. Every nursing student owns a copy of Grey's Anatomy. Every ophthalmology student and every resident completing an ophthalmology rotation must own Wills Eye Manual; it has no equal, and you cannot find a reliable substitute. Just as naturally, automatically, predictably, and inevitably as internists and primary care physicians invest in high-quality stethoscopes, eye-care professionals invest in the latest, most up-to-date edition of Wills.

Not surprisingly, well-schooled and long-experienced ophthalmologists find Wills Eye Manual more useful as an essential office ornament than a tool in everyday practice-the equivalent of a thesaurus for Herman Melville or a "how-to-draw-a-girl" book for Leonardo DaVinci. They know the manual as if they had written it themselves. The specialists' objections, however, prove the manual's utility for general practitioners. When the specialist complains, "The book has nothing but the fundamentals-basic symptoms, essential treatments, and very simple figures and illustrations," the generalists nod heartily, saying, "Exactly!"

Now in its fifth edition, Wills Eye Manual remains "the gold standard" of eye-care references. Of course, it still details the fundamentals of ophthalmological diagnosis and treatment, but it has a whole new and much-improved look. For the first time, editors and designers have included glossy pages replete with colour photographs; and they have simplified quick look-ups with tabs and headings in colour. The editors--Ehlers, Shah, Fenton, and Hoskins--wisely have kept the manual's efficient, logical outline design; and they skillfully have balanced essential clinical terms with everyday language. In many cases, they add notes and anecdotes from exemplary cases, suggesting examples professionals may follow or warning about common mistakes that complicate patients' disorders or injuries.

The publishers also collaborated with IT professionals at Skyscape, digitizing the fifth edition of Wills Eye Manual, and making it more readily accessible to physicians in emergency rooms and high-volume clinics. The entire fifth edition of the manual, including its supplemental chapters, large appendices, and Pharmacopoeia are available on CD-Rom for Windows operating systems. Skyscape subscribers also may view the manual online. Moreover, Skyscape has released the fifth edition of Wills Eye Manual for handheld computers that use the Palm operating system. Every clinician and front-line caregiver now has Wills Eye Manual within easy reach.

3 Essential Marketing Tools That Every Budding Internet Marketer Must Have

3 Essential Marketing Tools That Every Budding Internet Marketer Must Have

Without these essential tools you will NEVER generate a recession proof income and will fail online.

Domain Name
Capture Page

Domain Name

Domain names are the unique word sequences that you enter in your address bar of your internet browser to visit a specific web site. For instance one of my domain names is This domain name is then used in a URL's (Uniform Resource Locator) to identify a specific website. A URL prefixes the domain name with "http://www."

You can purchase a domain name for just a few pounds/dollars.

Capture Page
A capture page is sometimes referred to as a landing page or squeeze page and it acts as the gate way to your business. Your capture page is the first impression that your visitor gets of you and what you are offering.

It is called a capture page as it captures the personal information of your prospects as they are prompted to leave their name, email address, maybe even their telephone number and other info. Some marketers ask for the best time of day to call or which country you may live in.

The sole purpose of the capture page is to provoke sufficient curiosity with your visitors that they leave their details. The prime objective is getting them to subscribe to your list, thus building your database. This can be achieved by providing a compelling script that answers a specific question that your visitor is looking to get answered. This is referred to as a problem statement.

Examples are

How To Get Out Of Debt In 7 Easy Steps
How To Generate A Recession Proof Income In Any Economy

Evidence shows that it takes between 7 and 13 communications before someone buys from you. Most people need continual encourage and reassurance before they hand over their cash. Your job is to turn that interest into a sale! This is where an auto-responder comes in.

So What Exactly is An Auto-Responder
An auto-responder is a system that automatically sends out an email or a series of emails to your database, referred to as your list. I'm sure you have heard that term "The Money Is In Your List", well it certainly is, and an auto-responder is what helps you manage and utilise that list to maximum benefit. An auto-responder acts as your database.

The emails that your auto-responder sends out can be personalised with the persons name. This makes your messages more human and therefore they are more likely to get read.

There are two main ways to use an auto responder.

Use the follow-up message facility
Send broadcast messages / newsletters

Or a combination of both.

I personally have only one follow-up message in my auto-responder which goes out immediately that someone subscribes to my capture page. I then use the broadcast facility to send out time sensitive messages.

The reasons I personally prefer the broadcast method is it

Allows me to relate the message to a real time frame and to real events that may be happening in my life, business or in the world generally. For instance my business works 24/7 365 days a year so I make money while I'm away on holiday or travelling. When I'm away I send short email broadcast messages out to my list mentioning that I am holiday in x and that my business has still made me money on auto-pilot.
Another reason I prefer the broadcast method is I hate receiving emails on Christmas day and Boxing Day. Other people maybe offended in receiving messages on other religious events, by using the broadcast method I control when my messages go out.
I feel this method builds greater rapport with my subscribers

Many marketers literally set up their auto-responders from day one with hundreds of messages. You can set these messages to go out at predetermined internal. The first one will probably go out immediately the customer has taken an action, most probably after they have left their details at your website or capture page.

Auto responder messages build momentum and trust amongst your subscribers. I usually send 2 a week a maximum of five over a 2 week period. Some marketers send messages out every day, I just feel that is OTT.

One of the keys to successful in internet marketing is to continue to provide real value for your subscribers not just bombarding them with constant sales pitches.

When choosing an auto-responder I would suggest that you always use a recognised company. Two of the very best out there are AWeber and Get Response. I've always been with AWeber but I have used Get Response when helping team members so I can recommend either without hesitation.

What I would say is never use a business opportunity's own auto responder system. I learnt the hard way, when the company I was with disappeared - so did my list.

I hope this review of the 3 essential tools that all internet marketers must have was useful. The bottom line is without these tools you are dead in the water. A good Internet Mentor will steer you in the right direction on all essential internet matters.

4 Crucial Tools Every Internet Marketer Must Have In Their Arsenal

4 Crucial Tools Every Internet Marketer Must Have In Their Arsenal

One of the advantages of setting up an Internet Business (compared to a brick and mortar offline business) is the cost of setting one up. You do not need to spend tens of thousands of dollars to set up an Internet Business. In fact, you can start making a good income from an Internet Business without any initial investment! That is the beauty of it.

However, if you are serious about building your Internet Business for the long term, there are 4 crucial tools you need (some are free, while some are paid). In case you are wondering if these tools will cost an arm or a leg, not to worry - These tools cost less than $ 30 in total!

In this article, I am going to share with you 4 tools you must have if you want to build up your Internet Business for the long term.

1. Domain Name

This is the very first thing you need - and that is, a domain name.

Think about it - You are being approached by 2 companies - One with a free blog domain name and one with a .com domain name. Which company will you want to sign up as a customer with? Of course the one with the .com, right? The reason is because it looks more professional.

The same rule applies. Having a domain name for your website makes it look more professional, and people are more likely to place their trust in you and your business.

When it comes to choosing a domain name, make sure you choose one that is related to what your business is about - So that, at one look, your prospective customers can tell exactly what you specialize in.

Next comes the issue of whether to choose, domain name - I will always go for domain name first. If it is not available, then I will go for a .net. I will not go for the rest (such as .me, .info, etc.)

In case you are wondering (about the cost of a domain name), it costs approximately $ 10 a year. (Certainly very affordable to anyone, isn't it?)

2. Web Hosting

After you have gotten your domain name, the next thing you need to get is web hosting.

A web hosting is one that will hold all the files that your website has.

When it comes to choosing a web hosting service, make sure you go for one that is reliable (that has at least 99% uptime), and one with a 24/7 live support. The reason is because, if the web hosting that you use is always down, your customers will not be able to access your website. And as a result, you will lose out on possibly a lot of sales.

A basic web hosting service costs approximately $ 5 a month (this again, is very affordable to everyone).

3. Autoresponder

Now that you have gotten your website up and running, the next thing you need is to get your visitors' information (so that you will are able to follow up with them).

You can follow up with your visitors by sending them emails - And as such, you need a way to capture their email address, and also a way to send out emails to them - All these can be handled by an autoresponder service.

With an autoresponder service, you will be able to create forms to capture your visitors' email address, store them in a database, and send them emails as and when you want to (either to tell them that you have just updated your website with a new article, or you have come across a very useful product/service you think will benefit them and want to recommend to them).

An autoresponder service cost approximately $ 20 a month.

4. Web Analytics

There are 2 ways you can get statistics about your website - Such as the number of unique visits, from where did your web visitors come from, the number of pages they visit (along with which pages they visit), the links they click on, along with other vital statistics.

You can get some essential statistics about your website from your web host (go to your website's cPanel, and locate the icon "Awstats") or you can sign up for a free Google Analytics account (where all you need to do is to copy a few lines of code to your website and you will be able to capture essential statistics about your website).

With these statistics at hand, you can find out useful information such as the topics in which your visitors are more interested in (and with this information at hand, you can create more articles on the topics in which your visitors are interested in). And by doing so, you can get your visitors to visit your website again and again (this will help boost your website's traffic volume).

Internet Marketing for Free - Why You Must Use Forum Marketing to Promote Your Website

Internet Marketing for Free - Why You Must Use Forum Marketing to Promote Your Website

Once you have figured out how to create your own website, you will need to find ways of generating traffic to it. An extremely efficient and cost free method of promoting your website is forum marketing.

In this article I will show you how to use forum marketing to create a huge stream of targeted traffic to your site.

Find a suitable forum

Not all forums will be valuable to you. Narrow your search down to forums that discuss your specialized niche market. The best forums should match the following criteria:

a minimum of 1,000 members and 10,000 posts,
receives at least of 20 new posts on a daily basis

Understand the forum rules

You will find that each forum has its own set of rules which you must conform to. Before you create your first posting, make sure that you are clear about the forum's policy and guidelines. For example a few forums won't allow you to insert a signature link. These types of forum will be of no use to you.

Create an account

You don't have to use your real name but instead choose a good user name that will be appealing to other members (steer clear from weird number combinations or strange sounding words).

Avatars are little photos that will appear alongside all your posts. If you wish, you can enclose a picture of yourself. People like seeing who they are talking to and this will help to strengthen your profile. Often people will include a picture of cute children or pets. Whatever image you choose, make sure that it is not offensive or controversial.

Forum signature link

Forum signatures are lines of text or graphics that will automatically appear at the end of every forum posts you make. This is the only place in the forum where you can promote your products or services. In order to take full advantage of this, make sure you insert a hyperlink to your website in your signature.

This link is a powerful advertising tool which will generate traffic to your site.

Every time you make a post your link will be continuously shown to members and visitors. Furthermore, it remains in the forum for as long as the post remains, which could be months or even a whole year.

Spend some time designing your signature. Make sure that it includes a strong message that will incite people to click your hyperlink.

Make valuable contributions to the forum

The true secret of successful forum marketing is to develop and nurture relationships.

Your objective should be to progressively getting to know the members and to create a connection with them. Become an active member by posting quality comments regularly to the forum and reply to queries posted by other members. Whenever possible, offer advice, tips and guidance.

When you have established yourself as a reputable member of the forum, you will then be able to slowly and gradually promote your products to them.

If done properly this is a powerful way to generate targeted traffic to your website.

The whole process of "how to create your own website" doesn't have to be complicated and lengthy.

Web Marketing Strategy Must Have

Web Marketing Strategy Must Have

You need to have a web marketing strategy if you consider generating an income from the start with your online business. It is possible to make a conventional schedule for yourself, or invest the first couple of hours each day marketing yourself and of course your company. You'll soon find that this is usually fun, particularly right after you begin making some product sales. Think about marketing and advertising as sharing the info about what you are actually doing with as many folks as feasible who would take advantage of your understanding and experience.

Running a blog is the first way we use to spread the word out. We maintain the blog posts to under 400 words. This really makes them easier to go through, and much more likely that someone will click on my link to actually read the sales letter for the product we're promoting. Be sure to compose each blog post so that it'll stand on its own merits, irrespective of whether your audience has been to the website before or is completely new. Also, do not attempt to sell with your blog post. As an alternative, share important info which will encourage the reader to want to know more.

We then go ahead and take post and transform it into an article. You may do this without modifying a thing, or you may slightly rewrite it. That is completely up to you. Submit your article to the largest article web sites online.. Make certain to get rid of any hyperlinks from the body of the article, as this does not serve you well. Instead, include things like a backlink to the product or service you are promoting in the resource box at the end of the article. Invite the reader to download your free giveaway to entice them to take a good look at what you've to offer them.

The next phase in the web marketing strategy is to send an e-mail to your list. This will be the main source of the product sales, so be certain to communicate effectively with the people who have come your way to get more info. You want them to connect with you to ensure that they'll trust you to provide them with excellent information and resources, right now and in the future.

Plan a teleseminar to talk about the product or service you're promoting. When people hear your voice they will build up their trust in you more quickly. This will be the next best thing to meeting them in person. Regardless of whether you're promoting your own product or service or an affiliate product, getting a online marketing strategy is essential to your success.

Make Money With Adsense - 7 Must Know Adsense Tips For Online Publishing Success

Make Money With Adsense - 7 Must Know Adsense Tips For Online Publishing Success
One of the most popular ways of making money online from home is by becoming a publisher for the Google Adsense programme. Once you've been approved, you can place a bit of code on your website to display relevant advertisements. Google pays you a percentage of the revenue it gets from its advertisers and this is how you make money with Adsense.

Here are 7 tips for succeeding with Adsense as an online publisher:

1) Choose a niche that has a high payout and a good number of competing advertisers. If you have advertisers jostling for position this will bump up the amount they are bidding and ensure you don't suddenly have a market with little or no advertiser interest.

2) Do your keyword research. Don't choose keywords that have no advertiser interest or search volume. You also don't want the keywords you choose to be too competitive.

3) Use unique content. Write content by hand, don't use private label or duplicate content from other sources. If you want your content to rank, you must write it yourself or outsource it.

4) Drive targeted traffic to your website. Don't waste your time with social media that drives highly untargeted traffic to your money site. The best traffic comes from people already interested in the content your website is offering.

5) Offer quality content but don't provide the absolute solution. Seriously, you want the advertisers ads to be offering the solution to your visitor, not your content. Make sure your content is good and worth reading, but don't give away the farm when you want to make money with Adsense on your site.

6) Display ads in prominent positions. You may want to check out the Google heat map for ideas on ad placement. As a rule, above the fold is the way to go.

7) Monetize your site with more than Adsense. Give your website visitor more than one option so you are providing something of value. Give your visitor links to other useful web properties as well.

The above 7 tips are a good start but there's a lot more I want to share with you, so I wrote a book on this subject to help you make money with Adsense. Stock Trading for Dummies ? Important Things You Must Know

Stock Trading for Dummies ? Important Things You Must Know

The lure of letting money work for you is simply hard to resist. That’s why a lot of people want to venture into the world of stock trading.

But there’s more to it than buying and selling stocks. No one can just go into stock trading without at least some basic level knowledge on how it works. If that’s what you’re looking for, then this article is for you…

When you buy stocks, you’re actually buying ownership in a company. You can either buy a common stock or a preferred stock. Common stocks make you a shareholder in a company, allowing you to have voting powers for every share you own in the election of the board of directors in the company’s annual meeting. The profit you earn from common stocks is based on the number of shares you hold. The downside of buying common stocks is that whenever a company folds, you’ll be the last to get paid (if ever you do get paid) and that would mean losing your investment.

While more expensive than common stocks, preferred stocks guarantee investors a dividend in the company profits, and thus provide more security. In case the company fails, preferred shareholders will definitely be paid ahead of the common stockholders but only after the company has settled its debts with banks and other financial institutions.

A stock price rises or falls based on the demands of the market relative to the supply. If the demand is high and the supply is short, then there is a corresponding rise in stock market prices. When you want to buy stocks from a company, it would be well-worth your time to check out its track record. One of the most important factors to take into consideration is its earnings per share over time since that will definitely tell you a lot about the value of the stock you’re planning to purchase.

So how do you buy stocks? You could work with brokers or buy it directly from the company. The advantage of working with full-service brokers is that you get the benefit of their expertise and experience through personalized attention. They tell you what stocks to buy, when to buy it and when to let it go. Dividend Reinvestment Plans and Direct Investment Plans are usually offered by companies so that you can buy stock and securities directly from them or reinvest any dividend you receive to buy more shares.

Investing in stocks gives you an opportunity to amass great wealth, but it also gives you an equal chance of losing your investment. The information that you read here is certainly not enough – you have to understand all the facets of stock trading before you actually go into the process of buying and selling stocks. It is also important to keep abreast of the news since stocks are influenced by political, social and economic events. Learn all you can before you take the dive. The more you know about how it works, the greater chances you’ll have of financial success.

Last but not least, check out this DecisionBar review and discover the real story about the DecisionBar trading system.

PPC Search Engine Marketing: Know What You Must

PPC Search Engine Marketing: Know What You Must

For the record, pay per click search engine marketing is not something that is a new term to people who are already in the online business. PPC or pay per click is an online marketing campaign that is implemented in a bid to present advertisements before the target audience when they search for the related items. This helps companies grasp some potential clients and consumers for a small price that they need to pay the search engines for the advertisement space. This practice has been more commonly adopted by affiliate businesses since they have to frequently appear before their projected audience to attract potential customers. But as more and more companies are getting into the act of adopting this practice PPC consultant search engine internet marketing has become more limited and has posed some worries for many companies.

The fundamental of the pay per click campaign is simply the submission of targeted keywords, which have been retrieved after keyword research, into search engines so as to match the entries of people looking for those products or services. It is highly important therefore, that the search engine professionals conduct thorough research and try as much as possible to zero in on better targeted keywords. The more relevant the keywords targeted by companies, the more chances there are of potential customers coming across their advertisement and supporting business through sales.

In order to understand the basics of PPC services you need to first know that you would be paying search engines money for every click that visitors would make. Now although the cost of each click may be really low as you will find out when you bid, you might lose out on a lot without any sales if you are not providing information clearly to the potential customers. So simply engaging in PPC search engine web marketing isn't enough to grow your business. You need to make your website as navigation-friendly and informative as possible to answer half of the questions of visitors then and there. Of course, you also need to fully prepare yourself through meticulous research and study of the market before taking the dive into the PPC business.

This article is written by a technical writer, working at a leading pay per click search engine marketing firm. We have years of experience as a PPC consultant company and offer PPC services services to worldwide clients.

5 Must Avoids For Bloggers

5 Must Avoids For Bloggers

To blog is very, very 'in'. We either blog, or blog-post every now and then, or go around reading some blog or the other. Blogs are all so popular and so many that, more often than not, we're spoiled for choice. Each time we come across a blog, we tend to judge or rate it. Some get tagged as great, some make it to the good list, whilst some languish at the bad or eeew position.

To make it to the great or at least the good list, you'll need to do quite a few things. Not too difficult, but you'll need to go about doing a few tweaks here and there. For starters, let's take a small step. Instead of targetting for a spot in the great or good list, we'll set our target as avoiding a listing in the bad or eeew position.

Righto... so here's what you DON'T need to do to have a serious chance of being a successful blogger.

Flashy and elaborate templates are a sure no-no. All you need to have is a simple template that is well categorized and easy to navigate. Flashy templates don't just look amateurish but also take tremendously long to load. They can actually scare off visitors from your blog. The focus needs to be on the readability of the text and nothing else.
Never write anything on your blog keeping in view Search Engine Optimization or the likes. Your blog will be read by humans, not by any crawler from a search engine. If it is to be popular, it'll have to be the readers who'll make it so and not the Google bot or one of its friends. Forget all you know about keyword density and SEO. Primary focus: reader. And none else.
The third: widgets. Now every blog does use widgets and you're sure to find a few here too. What you need to be careful about is overusing them. You haven't a blog to display fancy widgets or templates. You've one because you want to share something unique with your audience and this, you intend to do through your posts. Let the posts take center stage and make sure everything else takes a back seat.
Don't have a thousand links displayed on your blog. These are sure-fire ways to drive away traffic from your blog. Your blog must look neat and authentic and not some link farm. It is best to not have links pointing to other sites on your blog. If that isn't possible, try keeping it to a bare minimum so that readers get to read more of your blog than anything else.
The last one, perhaps the most challenging one too. Forget about earning through your blog. You don't really have to try severely hard to earn your living via blogging. Sure you can have a few ads here and there on your blog but make sure you don't overdo it by splashing them all over the place. Your reader must be able to access your posts without having to wade through too many 'guest appearances'. Again, focus on the reader and none else.

Now that you've dodged these dangers, here's what you need to keep in mind: Your blog must be such that when a reader- your potential blog regular- gets to your blog, he must judge it to be one that'll benefit him in some manner or the other. When this happens, you're sure to turn these readers into avid blog followers.

Three Things You Must Do Before You Submit to Article Directories

Three Things You Must Do Before You Submit to Article Directories

Article writing and publications are becoming very popular, so it is important for those who write and those who do not write, to become more creative in their thinking and writing.  There are many ways for writers to get their articles noticed and the process is very easy.  First we want to take a look at some of the mistakes that people make when trying to submit to article directories.

1.   There are at least three important benefits to why you are promoting your articles. You are generating leads, you are the top in that niche, and you are trying to promote your product. Most people write articles to inform the audience, but sometimes articles are not written with this in mind.  If the articles are not written specifically to inform the audience, then no one will be interested in reading the material.  You need to understand and know how to promote in order to get people interested in your article enough to read it.  The best way to do this is to write good content.

2.   The second is when you fail to get the most out of the article market by promoting.  Now you know that if your content is good, then you can get more visitors to your site and you can get a better rating when your article searches better.  Specific keywords are used in articles to make them more searchable.  The more keyword rich your article is, the higher the search rating and the more that it will come up in searches.  Do not overuse the keywords in the articles.  Sometimes when you try to use the keywords more than necessary, it tends to make the article sound robotic and uninteresting.  It is not all about how many people search for your article, but the quality of your content work.  That is what makes people want to read the article and will come back to read more of what you have written.

3.   Third, you do not want to write content that will not help the reader.  Sometimes writers are much more focused on getting people to their site, they forget about what is important.  A lot of directories have specific guidelines that you must follow when trying to submit, and they most certainly do not accept just anything. The directories want to share written articles with other people, but the article must be written very well.  You should write the kind of articles that publishers will want to share.  Good content consists of well written content that is without mistakes.  Also in order to write good content, you must research what you are writing about so that you will sound like you know what you are talking about.  Another way is to hire a writer that can write good content for you.

The choice is yours.  You can just write articles just to get people to click on your link, or you can do it the right way and write quality content that everyone wants to read and share.  When you learn the difference, then you will be able to write and submit great articles with quality content.

Google has been ruling the online marketplace; as testified by sheer volumes of search queries processed on the search engine everyday. Almost every web business caters to this website (and its numerous features) to better its prospects of driving traffic and earning profits.

AdWords, Google's Pay per Click advertising programme, has been touted as one of the most effective and successful ones in this field. It has features that ensure ease of operations for advertisers, irrespective of their knowledge of the domain. Conversion tracking is one such feature associated with AdWords.

In lay terms, it is the process of tracking conversions that are generated through your adverts placed on Google's sponsored sections. Conversion, on its part, happens only when a visitor clicks on your ad and eventually fosters a transaction on your website. The web page that describes a call-to-action phrase and entices users to 'convert' is known as the conversion page.

Each advertiser has a different way of denoting conversions for his business. For some it could be a lead or sale; whereas, for others it could be a sign-up or page view. However, every optimiser depends on the conversion tracking service to figure out the effectiveness of keywords or adverts used in his paid search marketing campaign.

The whole process of tracking is conducted with the help of algorithms designed by the search engine itself. Every time a user clicks on your PPC ad, a cookie is placed on his computer. As soon as he reaches your conversion page, the cookie is connected to that page.

By keeping a tab on this cookie, Google manages to track the activities of the user on your site. And, as soon as he completes the required transaction, Google records a conversion. Usually, these cookies expire in 30 days' time. Therefore, as an advertiser, you have to employ sound strategies for AdWords Google optimization in order to retain users and attain a high rate of conversions within that span of time.

You can ask Google to send the conversion tracking reports of your account through email or in a printable form. The only prerequisite here is an ongoing account with AdWords.
