Blog - Successful Marketing With Micro-Blogging

Blog - Successful Marketing With Micro-Blogging

Do you want to make money online? Consider micro-blogging -- sites like Twitter have millions of users. Let's look at how you can use micro-blogging for marketing.

You can market anything you choose: your small business, your services and products -- even affiliate products and sites.

Here's a simple process for you.

1. What Is Micro-Blogging?

Essentially, micro-blogging is a combination of instant messaging, blogging, and social networking.

Does that sound complicated? It's simple in practice, and explaining it takes longer than actually doing it. Once you get into the swing of it it will become second nature, because you'll find it's fun.

There are many sites you can use for micro-blogging, Twitter is perhaps the most popular, and is also very easy to use. If you don't already have an account there, create an account today.

2. Claim Your Brand and Keywords

Since micro-blogging is still relatively new, there's a great chance that you'll be able to claim your brand names (if you're a sole trader, that would be your own name or your business name), and specific keywords which relate to your marketing efforts.

Make a list of 5 to 10 keywords, and add two or three of them to your Twitter profile page. This means that searchers will be able to find you.

One of the big benefits of Twitter is that it's a combination of public and private messaging. There are many Twitter clients which allow you to collect your followers into groups, so that you can communicate with just a subset of your Twitter audience. You can also communicate with people privately by sending them a direct message.

3. Commit to Spending Time: Continue the Conversation

Many people start marketing but when they don't achieve instant success they stop.

If you're an experienced marketer, you already know that it takes at least three months to see results. You'll need to persist and continue your micro-blogging activities.

When you do build up a following, remember that these people are your audience. Treat them well: put the emphasis on helping them firstly, and only secondly on marketing, and you'll achieve success.
