Build a Website Or Become a Blogger?

Build a Website Or Become a Blogger?

Don't Build a Website Launch a Blog Instead! Hmmm?

Shortly after blogs first appeared on the scene and picked up tremendous momentum, many bloggers took on the tone and aura of Nostradamus and prophesied the downfall of traditional websites, as we know them. The talk around the cooler was don't build a website, launch a blog instead and they gave the top seven reasons why blogs were blowing websites out of the water and off the Internet superhighway.

Google loves blogs
Blogs are content oriented
Blogs are clean coded
Blogs get free content from people who post comments
Bloggers frequently add new content
Blogs get indexed much faster than websites
You have to know programming to Build a Website, not with a Blog!

Thus Saith The Blogger!

The word from the blogger gods came down from IT heaven decreeing traditional websites will fade off into the Internet abyss along with FrontPage, website frames, the 56k modem and dial up connections. Some super spiritual bloggers even predicted the demise dates. Website owners caught up in the moment hurriedly ditched their websites for the seemingly sexier blogs. But they soon learned that blogs are not the "Answer all" for marketing your business, company, idea, law firm, ministry, beauty salon or online passion.

Build a Website or Launch a Blog... You Decide!

The decision to build a website or launch a blog really depends on the type of business, organization or niche you are promoting. Some examples were a blog wouldn't bode well are: law firms, CPAs, tax attorneys, consultants and jewelers. Not if they want their clients to take them serious!

Gravy Trains, Bandwagons and Blogs

When blogs first became popular, hoards of people rushed and jumped on the blog bandwagon. Almost overnight blogs became the undisputed Internet gravy train. As they waltzed to the bank, various bloggers were singing the same tune...

Boom da boom boom ditty boom

Want to make money online? Get a blog!

Want to make fast money online? Get a blog!

Want to make easy money online? Get a blog!

Want to get indexed faster? Get a blog!

Want to launch an instant CMS Content Management System? Get a Blog!

Boom da boom boom ditty boom

The Culture of Blogging

After the hoopla, hype and dust settled and things started getting back to normal, the culture of blogging began to emerge and the picture wasn't pretty. Blogs started developing a reputation for providing, useless filler material, irrelevant content, and the worst of all, substantial duplicate content." This was due in large part to the fact that a high number of bloggers were compelled to submit content on a daily basis and when they ran out of content and had nothing else to say, they started buying PLR content along with thousands of other lazy bloggers. In addition, more and more bloggers reduced themselves to point blank copying articles from other sites, (i.e., plagiarism) and posting those articles to their blogs. please note: search engine technology is starting to catch up with the lazy bloggers.

Should You Build a Website or Launch a Blog?

Again, that depends on the type of business or niche you're engaged in. On the Internet, one size does not fit all and you have a lot of choices: a traditional website, a blog, Joomla, a Blogsite, CMS and a host of other options. One thing everyone can agree on is this; the traditional website, which is the mainstay of online marketing won't be going anywhere, anytime soon!

Concerned about the costs of a traditional website? Why? When we can show you how to build a traffic getting website at less than a fraction of the cost. To get more info, go to; Build a Website even when you have limited funds.

6 Reasons Why You Should Use Blogger

6 Reasons Why You Should Use Blogger

The most popular blogging platform available is Wordpress. Those using the self-hosted version have complete control over every aspect of their blog. Many who do not want to worry about purchasing a host and domain name, and want an alternative should look at Blogger.

I have used Blogger, and continue to use Blogger, to create some of my blogs. While I am also using Wordpress, I like the ability to create free blogs in minutes.

If you are looking at starting a blog, here are some reasons why I still enjoy using Blogger:

It is free. You can't beat this price, no matter how hard you look. It costs nothing to create and manage not one blog, but many blogs.
Google support. Google owns Blogger. When I use Blogger, my blogs get indexed quickly and my blogs are automatically registered and verified in Google's Webmaster tools. No need to remember to do add my blog to Webmaster tools.
Many available templates. While there are not as many templates available as Wordpress, there are still thousands of different Blogger blog templates available to download and use.
Built-in AdSense support. As mentioned above, since Google owns both Blogger and AdSense, it was only natural that they connect the two. Blogger allows you to easily add AdSense ads to your blog. You can also manually add the code as well, if you wish.
Custom domains. By default, your blog will be assigned an address similar to http://[yourblogname] Instead of using the default address, you can purchase a domain name and then have your blog use that domain name. Blogger provides help on using custom domain names.
Template design control. While Blogger does use it's own proprietary language within the templates, you have total control of the code and HTML within the template. If you can learn the Blogger code structure, you can do some great things with your template.

These are 6 reasons why you should have a look at Blogger if you wish to start a Blogger blog. Within a few minutes, you can have a blog up and running with very little effort.

Blogger Trick - How to Make a Post Sticky on Your Blogger Account

Blogger Trick - How to Make a Post Sticky on Your Blogger Account

Blogs are great formats for sharing information. When you create a blog entry, the typical blog setups, Blogger and WordPress, put your most recent entry at the top. The older entries are moved down the page. After awhile, the older blog entries typically move off the main page of a blog, and they're archived. The older posts can still be accessed, but they're definitely not as prominent for readers or search engines as the most recent post.

Sometimes you want to keep a piece of information in one place, normally at the top of your home page. Often you'll want to keep a summary of your blog or an important notice at the top of each page on your blog. This is referred to as keeping the information sticky. The "sticky" post or block of information doesn't move from its position on your blog. Here's how to do it.

Blog posts are included on a Blogger account using what's referred to by Blogger as a widget. A widget is a piece of code included in a Blogger template that tells the Blogger system to include some text or some kind of functionality. If you use one of the default templates from Blogger, you will find this section of code in the XML file for your blog setup, which can be accessed by going to Layout-> Edit HTML from your Blogger control panel.

(div id='main-wrapper')
(b:section class='main' id='main' showaddelement='no')
(b:widget id='Blog1' locked='true' title='Blog Posts' type='Blog'/)

These lines of XML tell the Blogger system to include your recent blog posts in the main section of the page for your blog. When you are creating posts, there is really no way to convey to the widget that you want a particular post to stay at the top of the page. Instead, you have to use a different widget, separate from the main "Blog Posts" widget described above.

For a blog I recently created, I wanted to have such a setup - a sticky post that would keep an overview of my blog at the on top of every page. I accomplished this by using a Blogger widget that actually doesn't deal with what's normally considered a "post" at all. Blogger has a widget called "Text" that suits the purpose well. If you click on any of the "Add a Gadget" links from the Layout page of your Blogger control panel, you can select the Text widget and enter the information you want to show up in your "sticky post". After you click Save, you are returned to the Layout page, where you can drag and drop the new widget so that it appears above your blog entries.

What is a Guest Blogger?

What is a Guest Blogger?

Whether you own a blog or you just frequent other people's blogs a lot to find information that you are interested in, then you may have noticed that the author is not always the same person. Sometimes the author of the posts on a blog is not the same person because the blog employs a group of people or a few different owners. Other times however, the blog may make use of guest bloggers in order to help them create content.

So what is a guest blogger?

A guest blogger is simply a person who writes for one or more blogs that do not belong to them. They may write articles that are meaningful to them or they may write articles that suit the needs of the blog owner. When a person does a guest post on another blog, it can be a one time deal or the blog owner may decide to have that person post on a regular basis.

For the blog owner, he or she receives quality content on a regular or sporadic basis from the people that guest blog on their site. This is a benefit because the search engines tend to value quality content. The blog owner can at times also receive web traffic from the guest blogger's followers, which is another benefit.

The benefit to the guest blogger is that it gets their name exposed on different sites across the Internet. This is important, especially if the guest blogger is not well known in their field of choice yet. Sometimes the blog owner will also let the guest include a link or two back to their own website or products, which is an additional benefit for the guest.

Guest blogging is pretty common these days, especially as blog owners continuously look for fresh ideas for content. Guests usually are not paid for their posts, but if the content is of high quality and the guest becomes a regular poster, then the opportunity may open up for a paid position, but it is not typical.

Every Blogger is a Failure

Every Blogger is a Failure

Thanks to the crummy economy, there has been a bit of a gold rush online lately.  Whether or not this is a good thing remains to be seen.  Generally, it is not a good thing because a lot of people who have no business in the business of Internet publishing are making a run at it.  To to tell you the absolute truth, unless you are a celebrity or a fabulous writer, nobody cares about your little blog, and they never will.  It's a cruel world because celebrities don't need the money, and fabulous writers often waste their talent with blogs.

If you think of yourself as a blogger, you are dead in the water.  Frankly, to be called a "blogger" is a bit of an insult, and if you call yourself that, it is even worse.  If you want to succeed at this, you must take the attitude that you are no mere blogger.  You are, in fact, a publisher who happens to publish on the Internet.  You are a writer who writes for themselves and their audience instead of for some bossy editor.

You are either a writer or a savvy business person who can hire other people to write for you, using the Internet to wangle some dollars out of their talent.

Those are your choices: Wrtier or business person.  Bloggers are people who keep diaries online.  Nothing wrong with it, but it is not a business.  Beyond your friends and family, chances are slim that anyone will read your blog.  Sorry to break it to you, but that's the way it is.

Step one in making money on the Internet: Stop thinking of yourself as a blogger or "Internet marketer." You are an online publisher (or broadcaster if you prefer).  You are a writer (or maker of videos and audio files). If you take that attitude, you will succeed.  You may fail many times before you find what works, but you will succeed eventually.

Just remember that you will fail.  Every blogger fails.  There's nothing wrong with it.  Thomas Edison literally failed 10,000 times before he succeeded, and thank goodness he did!

Are you ready to stop being a blogging loser and start being an Internet publisher?

Be a Professional Blogger!

Be a Professional Blogger!

For people who think that blogging is just a hobby during some free time or nothing more than a sideline after regular office hours, they should think again - fast! Consider the advertising income a successful blog can rake in: Google's online advertising service, AdSense, pay around 1 US cent to $ 2 per ad click. It may sound like loose change but add it up daily and people may be surprised that it could amount to a month's overtime pay or even a small payday cash advance. Not bad for working just a few hours in front of the computer. Other sources are from sponsored ads and content other than Google's, which with some creativity, resourcefulness, and hard work, could amount to hundreds of dollars in a month.

There are many income sources for professional bloggers, or simply pro-bloggers, like corporate sponsorships and freebies. However, the majority of the revenue comes from advertisements. Some expert bloggers are even offered to write web content for foreign websites. One pro-blogger from the Philippines had this to say, "I quite my day job when my personal blog started making good money. More than anything, going professional on blogging is a lifestyle choice. You become your own boss. It does have its ups and downs, but when more people log on the internet and find your blog interesting and useful, your blog's potential becomes limitless."

For people who want to try blogging for a living (and may be pleasantly surprised that they are good at it), here are some good tips to remember.

* Obviously, people should first create a blog site. Basic blog sites are available for free on the internet, like and For a personalized domain name (or the name of the blog), payments can be as low as $ 10 a year. Hosting services also offer around $ 10 a month onwards, depending on the added services. Regular employees could easily apply for a loan online to cover the annual fees and such.

* When creating a blog site, consider the lifestyle or needs that address the target audience or readers. Would-be bloggers should bear in mind to make their content unique. Although it is easy to copy from other websites, viewers can spot similarities and call the blogger's attention on it.

* Serious bloggers should be consistent in maintaining the quality of the blog. They must be patient and cool when dealing with posters' comments on their blogs. Some of them have strong opinions on the subjects or products discussed.

Blogs can take months, even years, before taking off and starting to make money. It depends on how serious the would-be bloggers work out their blogs. To stay competitive, starting bloggers should be patient and keep on coming up with the best content possible.

Changing the Look of Your Blogger Site Using Templates

Changing the Look of Your Blogger Site Using Templates

When you set up a new Blogger site, you can select from among sixteen default different templates, the majority of which have more than one theme variation you can select. When I first started blogging, I often tried two or three of the default templates before I settled on one that fit the theme of my site okay. You can use one of the following methods to change your existing template.

Picking a New Blogger Default Template

After you set up your blog, you may decide that you don't like the template so much, or you might just want to give it a fresh look. There are a couple of ways you can change your template. The easiest way is to simply switch to one of the other default templates provided by Blogger. You can switch templates by going to Layout -> Pick New Template from your Blogger account dashboard. You can pick a new template as simply as you selected your initial one. All the information (posts, pictures, and videos) you have already placed on your blog will be retained. Blogger's system separates the actual information (your posts and media) presented on a blog from the way in which the information is presented - your blog's theme.

When you change your template by choosing Pick New Template, Blogger's system is intelligent enough to preserve the gadgets you currently have set up. For instance, if you have added some gadgets using the Add a Gadget link on the Layout -> Page Elements page, those gadgets will be preserved in your new template design. I'll discuss later a method for changing your template design that requires more caution.

Editing Your Template's XML Code

Another way that you can customize your template is by editing the blog's template file. You can access the template file by going to Layout -> Edit HTML. Blogger would probably be more accurate naming the link "Edit XML", since that's what you're actually editing. What you'll find in the template file are some variable definitions, some CSS style definitions, and finally the body of the blog page, which contains a bunch of XML tags that look something like this:

In order to effectively edit your template beyond simply changing fonts and colors in the variable definition section, you'll need to know (or be willing to learn) some things about CSS and the Blogger XML schema. It will likely take some studying of the existing XML setup and some experimenting to make the improvements you're looking for. As you make changes, you might want to keep a backup copy of your last working template so you don't have to go back to work from the original template file if you mess something up.

Installing a Third-party Blogger Template

The third way to change your blog's theme is to download and install a Blogger template created by a designer. There are many free Blogger templates available for download all over the Internet.

To install a third-party Blogger template, save the template XML file to your computer. Then, from the Layout -> Edit HTML page, click Browse..., and find the template file on your computer. Then click Open to return to the Edit HTML page. Click Upload to upload the new template.

Something to keep in mind if you are using a third-party blog template is that if you have added gadgets to your blog (e.g. Followers, Poll, Labels, etc.), you need to be careful when using a third-party template to avoid removing those gadgets. If you download and install a template that doesn't support your custom gadgets, they will be deleted when the new template is saved.

If your new template does have gadget discrepancies, you will receive the following message when you click the Upload button.

Widgets are about to be deleted

Please confirm that the following widgets should be deleted. All the widgets' configuration data will be lost.

The warning message will then list those gadgets that will be deleted if you proceed with uploading the new template. To avoid losing your existing gadgets, you'll need to find the XML tags that represent those gadgets in your current template, and merge those tags into the template you want to upload. Doing so may be a little tricky. You might be able to get some help from the original template designer.

Each of these three methods of changing your existing themes has advantages and disadvantages. Hopefully this article has helped you understand the issues involved so you can make an informed decision. Happy blogging!

Blogger From The Future

Blogger From The Future
There’s a time traveler from the future living a quiet life in Oceanside, California. Okay, he’s not really from the future, but he visits the future daily and brings back future news in effort to inform forward-thinking people about what’s in store for humanity in the coming decades.

Rick Schettino, calls himself the “Blogger From the Future.” He’s spreading his message about what the future holds via his web site,, an archive of future-related news links, and his blog, "Blog From the Future."

“It’s a fast changing world,” Schettino warns, “and it’s hard to say what the future holds. Personal computer’s are generally doubling in power every 18 months. If the trend continues, in just a few years they will be four times as powerful as they are today. In 15 years they will be 1,000 times more powerful than they are today. In 30 years they could literally be a billion times more powerful and be as small as a pin head. Even we futurists have little idea of what that means for humanity.”

Schettino began working on in his spare time in early 2010. The site now has 250 blog posts and over 1,000 future-related news links. He calls a "No fluff, no frills, no ads, non-profit website." Topics include technology, the environment, and medicine - the usual futuristic topics - but he also includes news on social trends, and some pop culture to keep it light.

Schettino’s news gathering consists of a daily search through hundreds of online news sources including major news outlets and science and technology journals. also features news feeds that import scores of additional headlines from a select list of other future-related news organizations such as Discover News and MIT’s Technology Review.

“The people I think this is important to,” Schettino says, “are people responsible for any planning that extends into the coming years, like business people, parents, and also people who care about humanity and our future, people who dream of elevating human potential, and of course science and technology geeks.”

Being an early adopter of new technology, Schettino lives a highly unconventional lifestyle. “I never watch TV, I don’t commute, I don’t have a lot of posessions, I’m extremely mobile. I can work from anyplace with an Internet connection. I don’t like to be tied down to one place too long or I get antsy. I’ve lived in more than 30 places. I think that’s why I make a good futurist, I’m always thinking ahead and planning my next move.”

Cool stuff Schettino likes to “preminisce” about in his blog include artificial intelligence, autonomous cars, robotic assistants, telepathic computer interfaces, the ability to “print” household items, genetic engineering, and a cure for aging.

Predicting the future is getting harder and harder, according to Schettino. “There’s a technology tsunami coming. Most people are walking backwards into the future. They can see where we’ve been but have very little idea of where we’re going. I’m trying to spread the word that the future is going to be very, very different than the past and that we need to enter it facing forward.”

Improve Google Ranking With Blogger

Improve Google Ranking With Blogger
There are around 321,000,000 results for in the Google search engine. This means there are 321,000,000 indexed pages for blogs that are hosted in Google Blogger. Yet with this large number of pages, you've probably noticed that only a few of these blogs manage to get a decent Google ranking for most common blogging topics. Why? And can you duplicate their success? Keep reading.

A quick list of the most common blogging topics is published here: For certain key terms, a few sites stand out. For example, for "film reviews blog," two results deserve further study: and For "pet blogs," is worth a look. For "fashion and jewelry blog," we'll look at three results:, and

This article will examine the SEO characteristics of these blogs and what makes them rank in Google for their targeted terms. The information gathered by this observation can be used by aspiring bloggers to optimize their blogs for the best results in Google.

Content is Still King: Consistency and Quality

One of the common characteristics of most these blogs is that they emphasize writing quality content on a consistent basis.

Another thing worth observing is the large minimum number of indexed pages on these blogs. Based on the sample provided, you can observe that most of them have indexed pages greater than 50; in short, all of the blog owners have written at least 50 posts for their blog.

A high number of blogs in Google's top 10 even have hundreds to thousands of indexed pages. Regarding the quality of the content, these blogs feature original content, and most of their blog posts are more than 400 words long.

These blog authors write useful and convincing content with the sole purpose of meeting the demands of their readers. The blogs' readers, especially those that are coming from Google, expect quality information, and these blogs deliver. You might observe that their content is not spammy in nature, and that the authors write naturally for their readers.

Another thing worth observing is that these blogs do not contain too many ads on their pages. Well, you might have seen that most of Google's "blogspot" users set up blogs just for Google AdSense. As a result, their blogs contain a lot of ads, but little content, which is a mistake.

But the top ranking blogs do not contain distracting or obtrusive ads. Instead, most of them even have no ads, or if they include an advertisement, it is clearly separated from the content, and limited.

This implies that these blog authors are not blogging just for the purpose of making ad income; they are blogging to write great content which is helpful for their readers.

Finally, they are not only writing quality content on a single occasion; most of these blogs are consistently updating and adding content.

To summarize what we've learned:

1. Blog authors at the top wrote a lot of quality content. Most ranking blogs have at least 50 blog posts. Writing content is really hard work and a time-consuming activity, so make sure that you are creating a blog that showcases your expertise in a specific topic or niche (not just a simple hobby that you have just recently learned or things that just interest you).

This will ensure that you will never run out of helpful topics and ideas to write in the long run, which you can share with your readers. This is a very important blogging requirement that will help you stay motivated to write.

Most users of Google Blogger start a blog just to share something which they are not really good at; they're not an expert on that topic. As a result, they are not greatly motivated to continuously write for their readers. They then abandon their blogs, and all of their marketing efforts to get known and rank in Google, at some point in time.

2. Write useful, original and convincing content for your readers. Since content is king, you should pay attention to this if you need to improve your Google ranking.

The logic is that Google ranks only quality content, and quality content is original, helpful and informative. Quality content is a strong factor in attracting organic links in the long run. This is why it is so important.

3. Text content should not be spammy in nature; it should be naturally written. Do not fall into the mistake that some other bloggers make -- stuffing their pages with spammy tags and keywords.

4. High-ranking blogs do not contain too many or obtrusive ads. Ads need to be separated clearly from your content. Make sure the content is more prominent than the ads. Obtrusive ads can make your blog appear less trusted to readers, which can affect your search engine reputation in the long run.

5. Regularly update your the content.

authentic nfl jerseys Onlineshop webeditor report:

Dan Benton: "The Vikings do not necessarily use a dynamic offense, but Adrian Peterson certain may be a joy. Just how vital has he turn out being to Minnesota, and just how a good offer much more vital will he be moving forward?"

Anthony Hall: "Adrian Peterson is already an instrumental section of the offense, producing him a favored for Rookie about the Year honors. he's created this kind of a buzz with Vikings fans, that loads of individuals these days are already calling for the Purple to ditch the two-back prepare (where Adrian and Chester Taylor share carries), and make Adrian the featured back. I'd fairly sustain the two-back prepare in place, but nonetheless, Adrian's carries will only hold on to enhance with the sleep of the season. Indeed, he's the principal reference of excitement about the Vikings offensive unit, with his capability to split the large play. If Adrian can continue to be healthy, he'll be a perennial professional Bowler- he just brings so a good offer for the table, that he'll be providing defenses nightmares for just about any great offer of seasons to come. Again, though, sturdiness might be the important for him."

Hall: "Well, the Vikings ought being really hungry to depart Arrowhead acquiring a win. as well as they ought being really hungry to conquer eco-friendly Bay in day four. for the cause that right after seven days five bye, the routine rapidly gets a good offer tougher for the Vikes...with game titles on the way in which to Chicago, Dallas, and San Diego looming in October and November, winning ballgames will be a tall purchase within midseason. It's completely important that this Vikings obtain treatment of group in these long-term two weeks. I self-confidence they realize this."

DB: "The Chiefs have been a main disappointment as a result far, but are bound to select it up sooner or later. don't you think about it's possible that Minnesota overlooks them?"

Hall: "I actually do not think about so. The Vikings are in no area being overlooking anyone- not with the way in which they played on the way in which to Detroit final week. this may be a hard online game for the Vikings, as Arrowhead's a complex ambiance to perform in, and because of real truth the Vikings have historically struggled in outdoors stadiums. They just should be completely concentrated on acquiring to 2-1."
